When my friends asked me to get Destiny 2 I told them I didn't need to since I have all the Borderlands games. Seems like I made the right choice skipping it. I like the Borderlands games. Similar. Destiny 2 is solid if you have lots of time and really need something new to play.. nice eye candy. Destiny 2 looks and sounds great. It just doesn’t have the replay value for me. To be fair most of the loot driven games don’t appeal to me much once the storylines run out. I don’t get much joy out of chasin items without some big bad to use them on.

Mostly because of hard drive space but for FPS I'll still play Overwatch and I've gone back to Dark Souls III when I get bored of that.

I’m split between Overwatch and Fortnite(which is lots of fun and free to play). With the occasional COD WW2 day thrown in with friends.

At first I though it seemed like a sociopath training game.. but I think I've come around to seeing how it would be an exciting time. Might come to PS4 at some point.

I’ve seen videos and stuff but never played it. Fortnite has a similar premise but replaces the grittyness and realistic visuals for a more light hearted feel and cartoonish visuals, and adds some building components.

Wow... Fortnite might be the most fun I've ever had with a free game. Very nice. It’s very addictive. I loved Fortnite so much. It might not be around much longer as the company is getting sued. It is a blatant ripoff of Battlegrounds. I love it though. I was playing it all of the time, but I just got Battlegrounds yesterday and might play that from now on. It is seriously the exact same game but with customization options, a much larger map, vehicles, and it is far more realistic. I do miss the building though. It is $30.

Pubg is a rip-off of H1Z1 tho, so it has no claim here! H1Z1 in turn is a ripoff of an Arma 3 mod or something. So I’m not worried about Fortnite losing on the deal. Might as well argue Call of Duty is a rip-off of Wolfenstein. The games are different enough and how could one game claim to have control over an entire genre? Especially when it’s not even the first!

It is an obvious rip off.

Mechanically, Fortnite has a resource and building mechanic that pubg doesn’t. PubG has a vehicle mechanic that Fortnite doesnt. PubG has realistic feeling weapons and a grittier more serious tone, Fortnite has the ability to ride on rockets and goofy skins that make people look like gingerbread men. Seriously aside from a very basic definition of “players airdrop onto an island and fight to the death”...it’s a very different game.

The game modes are single, duo, or squad. As you play, the level slowly shrinks away to smaller circles. Pregame everyone can run around and test out weapons, moves, etc. You can be knocked down and the opposing player has to come revive you. Sure, it is more realistic and they have vehicles, but they are virtually the same game. It is not 'very different' at all.

On a basic level sure. It’s the same genre. Just like Need for Speed and Mario Kart are both racing games.

No they are not similar at all. Need for Speed and Mario Kart are both racing games, but besides that, they are completely different in every way. Fortnite and PUBG are the exact same game with different skins.
