So I made a thread like for 2017 so I thought I'd do it for next year now that we are at the end of the year almost.
Quite a few big movies again next year. I'm going to have to go with...
1. Avengers: Infinity War 2. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 3. Solo: A Star Wars Story
It's all but a given that Avengers and Jurassic World are gonna be in the Top 3. The number three spot will either go to Star Wars or The Incredibles 2.
I can't see any other movie next year making more than those four movies.

Avengers: Infinity War Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (Even though that first trailer is absolutely wretched). Solo: A Star Wars Story I'm not sure on it but went with this because the SW sheep will line up to see anything, as the last couple of movies have proven. Could wind up being Black Panther, even with a release date of February...probably not much in the way of competition for a while, it's the final entry before Infinity War, and black audiences may give it the same kind of boost women gave to Wonder Woman.

I think Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom might have some troubles since apparently few liked the trailer.

Why haven't you got an option for 'None of the Above'?

1. Infinity War 2. Solo: A Star Wars Story I'm not sure about the 3rd one, it could be any of the other ones you've listed.

Which alternatives did you have in mind?

Which alternatives did you have in mind? Any film that has a good story, is thought provoking, and one that doesn't have superhero's in it.
But is still a sci-fi film.
I can't think of any atm, as I don't think any films like that are being made.

Neither can I as the remaining scifi films there are do have a variation of a superhero or 'saving the world' arc in it.

I'm stumped too!?

I'm sure there will other movies releasing next year that will outgross some of the options I have in the poll but I don't think I missed any that had a reasonable chance of being in the Top 3 outside of some huge surprise.

The wildcard could be Spielberg's upcoming 'Ready Player One' but his last true blockbuster was KotCS ten years ago.

The wildcard could be Spielberg's upcoming 'Ready Player One' but his last true blockbuster was KotCS ten years ago. After watching the latest trailer I think there's a possibility Ready Player One could become one of the most succesful movies of 2018. And it's Spielberg so there's also a big chance of it being a very good movie.

I'm waiting for just one proper movie to be made of a very important and historical book called "Uncle Tom's Cabin". So far, no one has done it......why not?

It'll either do much better than people expected or it'll fail because all these little cameos of video game characters or anime vehicles etc won't be understood it even noticed with the masses.

Infinity War
Solo: A Star Wars Story
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald could be pretty big as well
