Blade Runner should win, but I wouldn't mind if The Shape of Water, The Last Jedi or War for the Planet of the Apes wins. Wouldn't mind Dunkirk as well, but I don't think it stands much of a chance in the visual effects category.

I think because most of the effects were practically accomplished, it might score a shot since blockbusters that rely on real props and practical effects are so rare now. |

Indeed, its been 34 years sincw a star wars movie won an oscar and I cant see that changing now.
