In this thread, please mention title of last "horror" film you've seen, whether first-view or repeat. Rate and/or review is up to you but would be appreciated.
The last one for me was...
Planet Terror (2007) - 8/10
I was entertained. It needed more laughs though, but did enjoy Jeff Fahey's character/performance.

The Unspoken (2015) 4/10 It honestly felt more like a made for tv movie. The ending was rather interesting but not enough to save the movie.

Recently I have watched these 2 (first view) ... 6.0 Insidious (2010) 7.0 The Conjuring (2013) Insidious is fairly good ... but The Conjuring blows it away.

I watched The Devil's Rejects last night. I've seen it tons of times as it's one of my favorites.

I actually didn't enjoy The Conjuring as much as I thought I would. I probably won't even bother with the sequel. I liked Insidious so much more.

My Blood Valentine (2009) - 7/10.
Actually a pretty decent slasher with a good murder-mystery plot thrown into the mix. Much better than the Friday the 13th flick released that same year anyhow.

I didn't mind MBV '09 at all. I also like the F13th remake. Waaaaaaaay better than the original.

I also like the F13th remake. Waaaaaaaay better than the original. You think so? Meh. To each his (or her) own. I've always been a bigger fan of the classics myself.

I'm in my fifties, and while I'm still nostalgic for some films, it doesn't quite hold up for many others, especially '80s horror films. I watched the first three original F13 films late last year for the first time in a long time, and very very unlikely I'll ever watch again. The reboot (some say it's a remake but it's not) with the dude from Supernatural was a really good film. P.S. I noticed I originally said F13 '09 was a remake. My error, me bad. Meant reboot, or whatever they're calling it now.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe Postponed watching it for some time, but glad I did see it last evening.
Good, original movie with some subtle scares. After watching I realised its from the same director who made the norwegian Trollhunter (english version in the works apparently) which I also liked
7/10

Slumber Party Massacre III Better than part II, silly, but entertaining.

The Boy (2016) - 8/10
I was hoping for a "crapped-my-pants-and-proud-of-it" film but nope, not even a shart. However, it was a good film and had me thinking long after the film was over.

The Invitation (2016). 4/10
I know a lot of people love this one, and I respect that, but I just don't get the appeal. It has no business being on "best of" lists in my opinion. I don't think it is a good film in any way other than maybe the acting. It's not really a horror film until maybe the end. I had heard such good things about this movie, so I was pretty disappointed.

Crimson Peak (2015) 2/10
I can write pages about what was wrong about it. I just have to say Guillermo del Toro seemed like having the potential to become a horror/dark fantasy director and writer that just rocks my boat. Alas wasting too much time on superheroes and other stuff that doesn't interest me. So far only Pan's Labyrinth was great. The rest has not been refreshing in any way. Devil's Backbone it had potential but can't see what would have set it apart from other ghost stories. Crimson Peak seems like the final nail in GDT's coffin. Sold his soul to Hollywood and the mainstream crowd. The critics probably love it.

Day of the Dead (1985)Horror Level: High This was a really fun zombie movie. Even after 30 years after its release it's still very unigue compared to other zombie movies. There's a lot of tension and horror. I got where everyone was coming in the movie but ultimately I think I would have sided with Captain Rhodes. 7/10.

The Conjuring. It's been on TV a lot. Great mainstream horror film, blows a lot of the other mainstream horror films out of the water.

Mum & Dad (2008)
2nd Viewing. British horror, decent enough for at least one watch, although it's more focused on gore and being mildly disturbing/disgusting than actual story or scares (6/10).
