1951 ...my #41 all time. Fun trivia: Peter Bull plays opposite Sim in the 1951 version... & opposite Scott in Dr. Strangelove. #38 for me now. I genuinely love the film.

Adore that story. I am a committed born again atheist and have less than no time for the blind worship of invisible deitys .....but that beautiful story embraces the 'spirit' of Xmas as a lovely institution without too much of the religious dogma that blights that time of year. End of sermon and apologies.
I like a lot of versions (not mad on Bill Murray's one though, brilliant though he often is) but I have to go with the Alistair Sim movie as my fave.
As a side note....I recently researched a christmas school trip stage production in London of Peter Pan that I recall being taken to when i was aged about six. I remember Wendy Craig was Peter Pan......but it absolutey blew me away to find out now that Captain Hook was played by.........Alistair Sim !!
That makes me feel so fucking young.

I always liked Scrooged with Bill Murray. Not a direct translation but always enjoyable.
