I don't know much about this movie. It's release date in June 16th. Summer has started for just about every kid. The kids who fell in love with Cars have grown up and out of it. So this will possible have to attract a different age group. I haven't seen hardly any marketing yet, just a teaser trailer. Based on release date alone, knowing it's Pixar, I'd might even go higher than 250M. I'd say 280M

Cars 2's domestic gross fell from the first and got a negative reception. Even with a return to form for cars 3 critically, I don't see this doing more than 150 million domestic.

If it earns positive reviews and because of Pixar's still vibrant brand, it could perform similarly as Monsters University, which earned $268 million domestically. It has only two weeks to hold onto the family demographic before Despicable Me 3 opens, which will definitely gross more. I'll say it grossed over $250 million.

I don't know. Cars 2 sucked. I really can't predict this one.

Cars 2, even with poor reviews, managed to make 191 million. If the third film is received even moderately well, we will probably see something between $225-250 million.

Enough to remind us that moviegoers are still fooled by the name PIXAR.

Even if cars 3 is well reviewed (and I think it will be certified fresh on RT), the bad word of mouth for cars 2 will take its toll. Also, while pixar is still a vibrant brand, it's no longer an immune brand since good dinosaur flopped. I only see cars 3 doing 150 million domestic and 400 million worldwide.

I don't see Cars 3 making a splash after the disappointment that was Cars 2. $200 million tops, and that's low for Pixar.

The people that saw cars 2 were generally disappointed and they paid money to see it. Might not happen with cars 3 for some of them. 150 million tops domestic.
