I'm smart enough to know that that Hamill knows more about SW and the actual character that he's played than some fool like you who thinks he knows more about it than anyone else. Cupcake, I've probably forgotten more about the universe of Star Wars than an illiterate moron like you ever bothered to learn. And Hamill knows less about Luke than most fans of the character--this is just a fact, as he has repeatedly expressed complete ignorance about Star Wars lore in interviews. What Hamill and idiots like you definitely know nothing about is good writing and good character development. Johnson took Luke in a new direction. You're butthurt over it, I get it. You wanted a simplistic, cartoon character. What you got was something more for adults, something more human and complicated. It's official, its part of canon, and there is absolutely nothing you can do but whine pathetically on an internet forum. Actually no, it isn't a fact. It's your pathetic arrogant opinion. And what we got was a cartoon character! A whiny, grumpy "get off my lawn guy" who looked more like a SW version of Archie Bunker or Al Bundy in search of a liquor bottle than Luke Skywalker. Then he showed up in the final minutes of the movie to break that character and pull off Rian Johnson's cheesy version of ObiWan letting himself be killed so he can become one with the Force. Pathetic, self-exalted blow-hards like you are just pissed because most of the fanbase saw Luke's characterization in TLJ to be the cartoonish, self-defeated, cynical joke of a characterization that it was. And that's one of the main reasons for backlash. I've dealt with pathetic clowns like you before. You're just shills who parrot bad onscreen decisions in SW and try and build elaborate fanfic explanations to defend it. Then proclaim yourself some message board god afterwards. You're a freaking joke! The fanbase has already spoken. And they don't agree with you, you pathetic little shill. Now run back over to the other forum that you came from where you're worshiped by the lemmings over there. Because it's not gonna happen over here, moron! LOL!

So who does the Star Wars fan base love more? George Lucas characterization of Luke Skywalker, or Rian Johnson's characterization of Luke Skywalker? Yeah, you're in idiot.

The fanbase has already spoken. No, cupcake, you idiots are tiny, meaningless minority with no power. You just happen to be loud--and a complete embarrassment to the rest of us. You do not in any way represent the typical Star Wars fan.

So who does the Star Wars fan base love more? George Lucas characterization of Luke Skywalker, or Rian Johnson's characterization of Luke Skywalker? The smart ones--we can exclude you from that group--recognize that Johnson's is an intelligent and well written evolution of Lucas' original character. The rest are just a loud, obnoxious, meaningless minority.

You do not in any way represent the typical Star Wars fan. Yeah, you keep telling yourself that clown. The facts of audience scores say otherwise. And there's nothing you can do about it. Go somewhere else and get your diaper changed. I don't have time for your infantile whining just because you can't handle that the fanbase is trashing certain issues of TLJ reflected in audience scores and forum backlash that hasn't been seen on any other SW film. Those are facts. Live with it. Deal with it. And find somewhere else to cry about your diaper rash you have over it. Because nobody over here is buying it.

Videos of Mark talking about the movie are being taken down...

It sounds like Trevorrow wanted to go in that direction. Now that JJ is in charge of IX it's unclear. I wonder if he said that before or after Trevorrow was kicked to the curb. That's quite a leak! Notice what Mark Hamill says at the 3:50 mark of this video. I don't think he realized he was leaking future details or directions when he said this.

He's apologizing for voicing his doubts about RJ's ability to write and direct TLJ. That's...blatantly what he said. That's just blatantly what you hallucinated him saying. It's all part of your reality-free delusional architecture.

The facts of audience scores say otherwise. Only a complete moron thinks self-generated audience scores mean shit. There is no guarantee a single person making such a score has seen the movie, there is nothing to prevent folks from scoring multiple times, and we know for a fact that loud, obnoxious idiot fans have organized to purposely and artificially drive scores down through cheating this way, because they've been open about it. All the evidence suggests that you morons are just a pathetic minority whose temper tantrums are being amplified by the Internet, nothing more. But keep fantasizing that you are more than that if it keeps you sleeping well an night.

The opposite it true, who do you think to mislead but yourself?. The thousands of negative reviews consist of long detailed rants whereas the few positive reviews mostly set out short promo wording like " It was so wonderful. It was everything I expected. Go see it with your family over the holidays.", mostly by accounts only created for this crap. Shilling and social media promotion is a sad reality with big projects and studios. Now, cry us a river. But remember that the Nile is not just a river in Egypt.

All the evidence suggests that you morons are just a pathetic minority whose temper tantrums are being amplified by the Internet, nothing more. But keep fantasizing that you are more than that if it keeps you sleeping well an night. Wow! You're a glutton for punishment, aren't you? First off, I'm calling you out on your claim that you "forgot more about SW than I know" and you know more about Luke than Mark Hamill. If you know so much about the character then you would know that even the EU characterizations of Luke Skywalker don't match that farce that Rian Johnson came up with. You don't know jack. Now to address your bogus claim that all of the backlash for TLJ is coming from a very small but vocal minority. You really think that TLJ is the first film to have scores artificially driven down? It's not even the first SW movie to encounter it. TFA encountered some of that. Rogue One definitely experienced that. In fact, almost every film of the superhero or fantasy genre in the last 10 years has experienced it. And Rotten Tomatoes has already addressed your bogus conspiracy theory that a (pathetic, as you put it), loud minority of trolls is responsible for all of the backlash. Read below: "Fandango’s Vice President of Communications and Rotten Tomatoes spokesperson Dana Benson has now come out and verified the authenticity of the audience score in an interview with Forbes, saying the film ratings site goes to great lengths in order to ensure the authenticity of their scores:
“We have several teams of security, network, and social database experts who constantly monitor reviews and ratings to ensure that they are genuine. They haven’t seen anything unusual with The Last Jedi, except that there has been an uptick in the number of written user reviews submitted.
Aside from that, everything is normal and we don’t see any unusual activity. We looked at The Last Jedi compared to other blockbusters and it has been consistent with those past films. We’ve been working around the clock to get the numbers right.
Authenticity is very important to us. We have security teams, network teams, database teams who work so hard, it’s a little disheartening for them to see people make such [accusatory] claims without knowing the facts.”
Benson adds that the latest Star Wars film has received a ‘comparable number of reviews to The Force Awakens’ at the same point in the film’s cycle. “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is now playing in cinemas."Like I said, you're full of crap. And this is proof positive that you're nothing but a moronic shill. With every new reply you make more of a fool of yourself.

Your evidence free lunatic conspiracy theory is duly noted. The fact remains, and it is a fact, that the haters are a tiny minority of pathetic losers whose voices are amplified by the internet, whereas most mentally stable, normal viewers quite liked the movie by and large. The RT critics scores prove this.

Like I said, you're full of crap. And this is proof positive that you're nothing but a moronic shill. With every new reply you make more of a fool of yourself. A. When asked, Hamill didn't even know what the Dark Horse Luke Skywalker story was. I do--I read it when it first came out. I bet you didn't hear about it until you read this thread and will have to Google it to even falsely appear as if you knew what I was talking about. So much for your SW lore knowledge. And so much for his. B. The RT spokesperson only debunked the bots theory. The fact remains that the former editor in chief of Rotten Tomatoes said recently that even he thinks user scores are completely inaccurate measures of true audience response, for the reasons I already gave: self selecting, no guarantee the movie was even seen, and multiple account spamming. The editor and chief, son. Choke on that inconvenient fact, why don't you?

I know there's been some confusion about whether Mark liked Episode 8 or not. Well, here he is uncensored and the video unedited...I've cut to where Mark enters as I just can't stand to listen to 30+ minutes of Rian Johnson talking about Episode 8.

Haha Mark Hamill: "Reunions are inherently disappointing."
"Who knew there was a Jedi pension plan?"
But he DID expect to come back. He talked about for years and years. The premiere for the Special Editions-he mentioned it even then.
He is getting in his little jabs---"we really need to think about what the audience expects and wants."
"After I read Episode 7's script I was like omigod I'll never work with Harrison Ford again."
"I couldn't ask for anything more..except merchandising rights."
