Which would you rather see? Ridley Scott was supposed to cap his prequel trilogy off with a final film but rumor has it that the film has been completely cancelled and will probably never see the light of day. With this happening, Disney buying Fox and just the mixed reception to Scott's 'Prometheus' and 'Alien Covenant' in general, I think Blomkamp is taking advantage of this in hopes to get his film made. While his Alien project was cancelled quite some time ago, I personally think Disney would be dumb not to consider the project at the very least. Yesterday Blomkamp shared this killer concept art to his instagram: http://instagram.com/p/BdMHjvEhkDU

I'd rather just have a proper Alien 5. I was intrigued at first by the Alien prequels, but aside from Michael Fassbinder's performance, they've been lacking.
They should wait a while before making another film. Considering we've had the AVP films and the two prequels in the past thirteen years, let the franchise breathe a bit, come up with a good story and then go ahead with a sequel.

Scott’s Covenant Sequel. Ripley is dead, Bloemkampf blows and Scott’s recent Alien films are cool. Get over it.

Scott’s recent Alien films are cool. Get over it. No, they really aren't. The word for them is "awful".

Well Blomkamp tweeted that he has "moved on" from Alien 5. I guess that confirms that it's a no go. Maybe some other director can take it over.

I'm not interested in anything that Blomkamp does. I liked Covenant and I enjoy Alien three, but I wouldn't mind seeing a different interpretation of a third movie in the Alien series if Blomkamp wasn't involved.

Alien 5. Not sure where they would take it though.

As much as I love the look of Prometheus and Covenant, they were both disappointing, and the real frustrating part is that they didn't have to be. They both were saturated with the stupidest characters imaginable. And plot devices that you see coming a mile away.
Then I look back at Alien and Aliens, two brilliant SF movies that hold up incredibly well today and part of me would like to make a film that ignores Alien 3 and Resurrection.
I have enough respect for Scott, though, to allow him to finish what he started. If he does.
I still think he should have adapted Joe Haldeman's The Forever War. It's the best futuristic military SF novel I've read (dealing with alien intelligence), has a great time travel twist and even a nice romance tossed in.

I do not need either. The Original Series has ended with Alien 3, and the Prequels are unnecessary.

If I had to choose it would be Alien 5. Though ultimately I'd rather they leave the franchise be.
It's almost tragic how badly the prequels were bungled. They really could have been great.

Of course I would rather scrap everything that came after Alien and Aliens. ALL the following movies do not live up to those two. However, we cant undo reality. Those movies happened and they have to be dealt with. How do you just ignore those movies and move on?
And how could you realistically bring back Sigourney Weaver unless you followed up with the version from Resurrection?
At least with Scott's prequel series he's in a time period where he can kind've do whatever he wants. I would like to see his final wrap up of the prequel series because the David character played by Fassbender is awesome.
Simultaneously, I would like to see BlomKamps movie because I have feeling that he would deliver something similar to what Cameron did in Aliens.
Right now I would just settle for a good Alien movie, whether by Scott, Blomkamp, or someone else. Just a good blend of horror and action that pays homage to the previous movies.

The Most Pictures that I see from what would have been Neill Blomkamp's "ALIEN 5", The More that I think that he really intended just to do a remake of "ALIENS".
