I'm just glad to see Wes Studi in a movie again.

I'm hoping to see it soon. My parents (retired) were camping in New Mexico when this was being filmed. They were out near Chama, NM. Some of the town folk were cast as extras I believe. There is a historic railroad that runs through there. Anyways, would love to see it just for the scenery, but the story sounds great as well.

I think it's excellent!
There's some irritants that I'll have to expand upon when I review it after the next viewing, but yes I'm a big fan.

I'm just glad to see Wes Studi in a movie again. I thought it an excellent film, even though there was something lacking that I can't put my finger on.

I enjoyed it myself but it had the same problem imo as another Bale vehicle, Public Enemies (2009). It's well acted but at the same time, there's this emotional detachment to the proceedings.

It's well made, well acted, and I found it mostly kind of dull.

I think you've put your finger on it. He doesn't seem to be there, in the moment. The film's parts were good, but they didn't add to a great whole.

EDIT:
After a re-watch today (Mar 5th 2019) it now is my #1 movie of 2018 as it was a 7/10 and after the re-watch I shifted it to a 7.5-8/10. it's Bale's #1 movie/performance in my book as nothing else challenge it.
but like I said on my initial viewing... Hostiles surprised me a bit as it seemed decent enough for me to give it a shot but I did not expect to like it as much as I did.
