Yes. Just don’t take it seriously.

Yes, it's completely absurd, but a lot of fun if you just go with the ridiculousness of an old slasher movie.

I thought it was a good example of the period and while not great, very good and fun. Another Spain produced film that I liked better is Anguish.

While I don't think it's a good film in terms of its ability to scare, I do think it's one of the most fun slasher films produced in the 80s. It's very watchable. It's gore is decent, it's soundtrack is memorable, and it's plot is pretty easy to follow. Plus, it's got the whole "bastard bastard bastard" line that's totally worth waiting for. I say give it another shot.

This is the movie that made me decide I was done with slashers.

I watched it back-to-back with Rest in Pieces, try that and call me in the mourning.

I know that horror movie fans have a soft spot for bad, schlocky movies and I share it, but I draw the line at movies that are mean spirited at their core.

Nothing about Pieces is meant to be take seriously. The whole thing is pure hilarity. A sewn-up corpse comprised of several different females ripping off the resident ladykiller's gonads isn't darkly comic to you?

Neither I nor any of my friends who watched it in the 80's thought it was even remotely trying to be funny, and there was a whole room of us watching it.

I guarantee if you were to watch it again you would see what I'm talking about. I'm surprised you remember much about it if you last watched it back in the 80s.

Jaws has a couple funny scenes. That doesn't make it a comedy. You know the scene where the a girl is so terrified that she pees her pants before being sawed in half? Was that laugh-out loud to you?
