It’s a Supergirl Supervillain Team-Up in New Synopsis

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Supergirl’s war with Reign is heating up, and the Kryptonian defender of National City is clearly outmatched. That won’t stand for Kara, though, who, in an upcoming episode titled “Fort Rozz,” will assemble a team of heroes and villains to break into the prison and liberate an inmate who might be their only chance at defeating Reign.

The episode synopsis reads as follows:

SUPERGIRL

“Fort Rozz” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

SUPERGIRL TEAMS UP WITH SATURN GIRL, LIVEWIRE AND PSI – As Reign (Odette Annable) continues to terrorize the city, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) teams up with Saturn Girl (guest star Amy Jackson), and the two recruit Supergirl’s former enemies, Livewire (guest star Brit Morgan) and Psi (guest star Yael Grobglas), to form a team for a mission to Fort Rozz to recover a prisoner who has information on how to defeat Reign once and for all. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) babysits Ruby (guest star Emma Tremblay). Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Gabriel Llanas & Anna Musky-Goldwyn (#311). Original airdate 1/22/18.

Fort Rozz has an interesting history in DC Comic canon. Originally established as a Kryptonian military installation in the deep future, Fort Rozz was later retconned to be a Kryptonian prison. The prison served as a waypoint for criminals sentenced to the Phantom Zone. A riot eventually led to the fort being transported to the Phantom Zone in its entirety. It is one of the few places in the Phantom Zone where time passes normally.

“Fort Rozz” will air on Jan. 22. Returning Monday, Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, with appearances by Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.

Wow. This sounds interesting. Superman and Cat Grant are returning (the former will most likely face Reign) and it looks like we might finally see Imra finally suit in up in the red and white as Saturn Girl and use her superpowers.

I would prefer Cat face Reign just for the shits and giggles of seeing her brow beat her mercilessly, obviously Supergirl would save Cat just as Reign lashes out but that scene would be funny as hell imo.

I think it is actually possible we might see Cat Grant go face to face with each other when she returns with Supergirl having to save her and if Cat is inside of Cat Co with Sam and she turns into Reign we will definitely see it. My question is where Reign gets her Supervillain costume from especially the mask 'cause with Kara we know she is wearing the Supergirl costume underneath her clothes but Sam doesn't know she is Reign so she wouldn't be wearing it underneath and I don't think it would be at her apartment or Sam would have seen it.

Yes. She did but it looks like they may have retconned that part out of the continuity, the new showrunners didn't see that episode, they are going into space to find it OR there is another Fort Roz we don't know about. Could they find a middle ground and say she threw it into space but it's been stuck in orbit or say Saturn ever since, there by it's off earth but also close enough so that she can fly to it being it's still in the solar system so she retains the powers of the yellow sun.

The sad thing is, I can't get myself excited. The villains have been rather lackluster and quite frankly boring. They can't seem to find a way to make them exciting and interesting, and if they don't care, why should I?
