Congrats to the WW team, beating War and Logan - two truly outstanding "action" films - is remarkable. The secret ingredient is that all 3 are much more than mere action films. These are bona fide classics with layers and messages elevating the source material instead of dumbing it down. 2017 will long be remembered as good year for great genre films.

awsome!
Also, that ceremony delivered the best practical joke of the year:
Knock. Knock. Gal Gadot and James Franco win at the Critics' Choice awards – but only one of them shows up. Guess who's knocking.

I was underwhelmed by it but at the same time, I am surprised that after all the hubbub that LOGAN hasn't gotten much in the way of awards. Granted, it made the AFI but no Globes and stuff like Deadpool did.

Well done for winning...but for me it was the lesser of all the other nominees

Should have gone to Logan or War of the Apes as those were artistically better movies than wonder woman. no real argument there.
However in this day and age of feminism, sexual assault and women empowerment. wonder woman is the poster movie of this awards. people need to get over it and accept that.

Eh, with the current climate in Hollywood it's no surprise the critics would want to side with a movie about a strong female so as to not set off anyone else who'd accuse them of being misogynists.

Spoken like Someone who knows that WW's success is transient. The movie couldn't even be bothered to put her in real danger because it was too afraid of offending someone.

Best pure action film of 2017 is 'Baby Driver'.

Wonder Woman stood on its own and was acclaimed before all this came to light. Besides if that had been the case, than it wouldn't have been snubbed for a Golden Globe.

It was "snubbed" because the Golden Globes are backed by the Hollywood Foreign Press, and they aren't as worried over the misogyny label as the people living in Hollywood itself. They're more objective in this situation.

Remember the nutjob King Kong Brady who created several threads on how sexist and disrespectful WW is? And that RT would fake the Bayesian review rankings with WW on top? Guess that's why it won the critics' award now. Where does Marvel get these nutjob fanboys from?

Nah, it just had the protection of Hollywood critics not wanting to be labeled misogynists after the Ghostbusters debacle. Otherwise they'd have pointed out the films flaws like how lazy it was to make Diana virtually invincible by the end.

That's just making excuses for the win. The MCU has won plenty of minor awards too, there's no need to be petty about it.

I stand by my opinion that Wonder Woman is just a good but not great movie, but I cant see much reason to diminish it's win here, if it were just for quality then ok fine, but WW beats out those other films by it's importance, if these awards simply removed the word best then I think a lot of whining would be put to an end, because these films don't get judged based just on quality but also on importance and influence.
DC-Fan is for once half right, WW is more important than any film the MCU has produced thus far, more important but not better, and that can easily change with Black Panther, which even so doesn't diminish WW's legacy so before DC-Fan starts whining like a loon keep in mind if BP does become as influential all that means is we'll get more of an influx of diversity in our films so only a mindless troll would actually be hoping it fails, and remember DC-Fan your not a troll...right?

Wonder Woman best action movie? This was one of the boriest movies last year. FF 8 should win this price.
