What would you want to see in it? Or which direction would you want to go in?
I think if it was a serious attempt at rebooting, it should be an origin movie that conveniently disregards the original films and goes straight into how he got the mask.

Did they not do that in the 2009 remake? I've only seen it once so my recall is a little foggy.
Either way, I think they should just follow on from that remake and avoid having Jason die and become a zombie/travel to Manhattan/become a body swapping entity/travel to outer space/team up with Freddy Krueger!
Just keep it simple, bring in more campers and kill 'em off imaginatively.........apart from the final girl.
That's all these movies are about after all.

I just want a soft reboot of the franchise, with a lot of the 80's charm from the original movies, and just go back to things are normally, like a return-to-form installment. Also, Tommy Jarvis (who would be played by a 46-year-old Corey Feldman) would appear at the end, and the film turns out to be a sequel to Jason Lives, as a twist. Kind of like Andy played by an adult Alex Vincent showing up after the credits of Curse of Chucky.

Very simple, zombie kid in hockey mask stalking, eerie quiet scenes, great jump scares, camping and campers, annoying characters You'd love to see killed, others that You'd like to survive, ghost stories being told about the history to give backstory. A few twists. Lot's of blood but not gratuitous amounts. Indie feeling. Open ending.

How much have they touched on the origin of Jason in the movies? I can't recall it. So maybe a Jason origin movie.

I honestly don't remember much about that turkey except Jason stashing bodies, which was stupid.

Doesn't even have to be a horror, it could be a dramatic film, about loose family values.

I know that I am in the Minority on this one but I would love to see them redo the first "FRIDAY THE 13TH" Movie Story where Mrs. Voorhees was the Killer and was killing all of the counselors 1 by 1 at Camp Crystal Lake.

A back-to-basics approach would be my suggestion. Bring in a talented genre director and give them a degree of control. Cast likeable performers for perilous situations, generate suspense and craft tense set-pieces. A strong slasher with genuine stalk n slash elements.

Get one of those 80s nostalgia directors (ie the Stranger Things brothers, or Adam Wingard). Give it a winter setting to set it apart. If it's a sequel, bring back Tommy Jarvis and introduce Jason's dad. If its a remake, how about a movie where both Jason and his mom are killing together?

somebody correct me if i'm wrong - but have we ever gotten a 'winter' setting at camp crystal lake.
maybe you can have renovations going on during the offseason with snow everywhere and the workers are 'stuck' because of a snowstorm.
blood soaked snow with Jason stalking people - sounds like a winner to me.
go back to the 'Giant' Jason too - ala Ken Kirzinger (spelling?) in FvJ - like a huge monster like Zombie did with Michael Myers.
unpopular opinion - but Kane Hodder was my least favorite Jason.

I'm with you on this except for the Kane Hodder part - but I've never really cared to breakdown individual Jason performances.
