Is it even worth me seeing the first one? I'm not a fan of gore, especially if it's gore for gore's sake, and I think if Eli Roth is rated at all, he's overrated.

The first was marketed as a gore flick, but there's really only a couple of gross moments. I think it's a bit more psychological and creepy than given credit for.
The sequels are just gore flicks, though.

The sequels are just gore flicks, though. I disagree. I think the sequel was interesting. It was cool to see the point of view of the customers/“torturers”. I liked both it and the first a lot. But then again I’m a gore fan. Third one is shit though. Straight-to-video sequel.

there's only one type of horror movie i don't enjoy - pretty much 'torture'
own the first - got it for like $3.99 - collecting dust somewhere - reminded me of a Direct to DVD or Sci-Fy movie - abyssmal
