I recently started a thread titled "Most likable villain in MCU". This thread is for the Most despicable "hero" in MCU.
Here's my list of the top 7 Most despicable "heroes" in MCU:
7. Scott Lang / Ant-Man
In Ant-Man, after he gets out of jail, Scott Lang says he wants to become a hero so his daughter can be proud of her ex-con dad. Then he goes to Germany and aids and abets a double-murderer to escape from the law and gets his ass thrown in jail again. Way to make the daughter proud!
6. Peter Parker / Spider-Man
Aside from the fact that his only motivation to be a hero is to try to impress Tony Stark (which is a shallow reason to be a hero), in SMH Spider-Man literally attacks an innocent man who was just trying to get into his own car. Now most people wouldn't mind a vigilante beating up a murderer, rapist, kidnapper, child molester, armed robber, or wife beater, but I think everyone would find it unacceptable when a vigilante attacks an innocent person. No innocent person should ever be attacked by a vigilante.
5. Clint Barton / Hawkeye
In AoU, Hawkeye takes the Avengers, who are trying to hide from Ultron, to his home where his girlfriend and 2 young children live. The Avengers are being hunted by Ultron and yet Hawkeye puts his girlfriend and 2 young children at risk by taking the Avengers to their home. And in Civil War, Hawkeye abandons the children to go to Germany to aid and abet a double-murderer to escape from the law and gets his ass thrown in jail. So Hawkeye is happy to let the girlfriend do all the work to provide for the children and take care of the children all by herself while his ass rots in a jail cell.
4. Bruce Banner / Hulk
In The Incredible Hulk, Bruce Banner goes to a university during the daytime (when there are plenty of students, faculty, and other university employees around) even though he knows he could turn into the Hulk and thus endangers the lives of all the civilians at the university. And after turning into the Hulk, he slaughters several US soldiers, brave young men and women who were just doing their job trying to protect civilians at the university that Bruce Banner put in danger by going there, even though those US soldiers were no threat at all to the Hulk.
3. Natasha Romanov / Black Widow
In Winter Soldier, this former assassin for the KGB basically tells Congress that they can't arrest her because she's an Avenger and in her mind, since the Avengers are more powerful than the government, that makes the Avengers above the law and don't have to answer to the people. And in Civil War, Black Widow turns traitor and aids and abets a double-murderer to escape from the law.
2. Tony Stark / Iron Man
After announcing his home address on TV to the whole world, Tony Stark doesn't even bother to warn his girlfriend (who has no superpowers to defend herself) to stay away from the house for awhile so that she doesn't get in the line of fire when the bad guys launch a missile at his house.
Refuses to turn over the Iron Man suit (a weapon of mass destruction that has more destructive power than the 2 bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki) to the US government, even after weapons of mass destruction built by Stark Industries ended up in the hands of terrorists and were used to kill US soldiers (ironically, the same US soldiers who were assigned to protect Tony Stark), thus proving that Stark Industries has inadequate security protocols to keep their weapons of mass destruction out of the hands of terrorists and thus can't be trusted with possession of any weapons of mass destruction as powerful as the Iron Man suits.
In AoU, without any authorization or permission from any world leaders, unilaterally decides to build a robot that tries to wipe out the human race. Also, along with Hulk, destroys a city in Africa and then instead of surrendering himself to the authorities to answer for the deaths and destruction that he and Hulk caused, flees from the city like fugitives and hides at Hawkeye's house like common criminals.
1. Steve Rogers / Captain America
Took a Super-PED to get into the Army because he was too lazy to exercise and train to pass the physical to get into the Army.
Stole the rank of Captain from other more experienced and more qualified officers who worked their butts off for many years to put themselves in line for a promotion to Captain but didn't get promoted because they didn't get to take the super-PED that Steve Rogers took. (And contrary to the false claim by an MCU fan that Steve Rogers was called "Captain" as a nickname, BEFORE Rogers came back with the rest of the men in the rescue mission, Colonel Phillips dictated a letter for another soldier to type up and said "Senator Brandt, I regret to report that Captain Steven G. Rogers went missing behind enemy lines on the 3rd. Aerial reconnaissance has proven unfruitful. As a result, I must declare Captain Rogers killed in action."
Colonel Phillips referred to Steve Rogers as "Captain" twice in an official letter to a US Senator. So Steve Rogers was already given the rank of Captain over more experienced and more qualified officers BEFORE Rogers had completed a single mission and when all Rogers had done at that point was do skits on stage with the USO. So Steve Rogers did indeed steal the rank of Captain from more experienced and more qualified officers who worked their butts off for many years to put themselves in line for a promotion to Captain.)
Aids and abets a double-murderer to escape from the law, making himself an accessory to murder after the fact.
Helped other criminals get away with crimes by forcing law enforcement to spend valuable manpower and resources to try to track him and Bucky down, resulting in less manpower and resources for catching other criminals. (This is similar to when O.J. was in the white Bronco and half the LAPD was following O.J. Criminals in LA who saw that on TV knew they could commit crimes and get away with it because half the LAPD was busy following O.J.)
Spit on the US Constitution (which he swore an oath to defend when he joined the Army) by not letting his BFF Bucky stand trial before a jury of 12 people and instead appoints himself judge and jury (like a tyrant would do) and declares that his BFF was not guilty.
