I know I'm very late in finding this out, but my God, that would have been AMAZING. What a shame it didn't happen.

Given the Skyfall estate was in Scotland, it would have been a great cameo. However, I can't help but think it would have cancelled out the attempt to debunk the "James Bond is a codename" theory. Trust me, fans can be stupid and delude themselves into thinking Sean Connery, in the film, is a retired agent who once held the title as James Bond.

I'm actually glad they didn't do it. It'd be too distracting.

I don't know. It would've been too "meta"

I'd love to see cameos of actors from past Bond films in the newer movies, just as long as it wasn't done in a confusing way.

It was never actually the plan.
It was only ever mentioned as a "wouldn't it be funny" type thing.

That would have been cool to see him interacting with Craigs bond, oh well.

Not sure I buy this, considering what a little bitch Connery has been about the Bond franchise.

Not sure I buy this, considering what a little bitch Connery has been about the Bond franchise. Explain He really didn't speak to Cubby Broccoli at all after he was done with the franchise, and constantly moaned about how it limited his roles afterward. Yet he was more than happy to take the payday to reprise the part in 1983 with that horrendous remake of Thunderball, which ironically sparked his career resurgence. The guy is actually lucky Bond came along IMO, since he really wasn't much of an actor in the beginning and didn't come into his own until the 80s. He may have mellowed somewhat in recent years, but he's always been very public about his disdain for the character as well as the franchise.

Holy Hell, I mean I knew he only did the sequels for the money but not the rest. weird.
