I love to look up at the night sky in general but I've always wanted to see the northern lights first hand.

Mothman. Wasn't she flying around a bridge and then it collapsed?
Northern lights. The pictures make it look like they ripple.

I love to look up at the night sky in general but I've always wanted to see the northern lights first hand. Often they are just a brightening of the night sky where you know there should be no lights. Sometimes BRIGHT greens and blues and they move across the sky. Sometimes ( rarely) they are RED and cover the whole visible sky. Usually not as spectacular as that but always worth taking a look at even when they don't look quite as impressive as the ones that are posted on line.
