easily his best movie and within my Top 9 movies in general.

Training Day (2001) easily his best movie and within my Top 9 movies in general. but with that said... he simply has a screen presence that not many can compete with. This. The unique way he delivers his lines with that accent of authority cannot be compared to anyone else. |

Honestly the majority of Denzel’s characters always feel the same. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as I think most Hollywood actors are this way...and he’s good same as opposed to bad same.

Fences and Glory are his best that I've seen. It's crazy that it took this long for someone to mention Glory! I haven't seen Roman J Israel but from the trailers alone it looks like the most generic 'Denzel being Denzel' script I can imagine; people are only listing it because he just got a nomination that he's surely embarrassed by. |

Fences and Glory are his best that I've seen. It's crazy that it took this long for someone to mention Glory! I haven't seen Roman J Israel but from the trailers alone it looks like the most generic 'Denzel being Denzel' script I can imagine; people are only listing it because he just got a nomination that he's surely embarrassed by. The reason I mentioned Roman J. Israel, Esq. is because it is the furthest he has played from himself and it is also a very good peformance. He is playing an almost autistic character in the film. I was annoyed by his nomination before watching the movie but after watching it, his nomination doesn't bother me anymore. The script isn't generic either, it's actually a pretty interesting movie imo. The trailers must be misleading. It has been too long since I have seen Glory, which is why I didn't list that performance. |
