Has anyone here seen Galaxy Of Terror. I stumbled upon and watched it online last summer. I liked the twist where it's revealed that Ray Walston's character was selecting a new Master to succeed him.

It's also notorious for the scene where a giant maggot rapes a woman to death. And Robert Englund has a scene where he confronts his evil twin, who sports facial expressions and body language which would soon be familiar when wearing a red and green sweater, a fedora hat, and burn makeup.

Cheesy and sleazy low budget sci-fi / horror as only Roger Corman can produce it. I'm a big fan.

Yep I saw this trashy sci-fi/horror romp. Very much a typical Roger Corman production. Yeah that maggot rape scene was shocking; pure exploitation at its best (worst?).
There was another Corman-produced follow-up to this, titled Mutant.

Galaxy of Terror is very good, one of my favorite Corman productions. However Mutant (Forbidden Planet) was a disappointing mess.

Seen it but cant remember it well other than Joanie, the worm scene and Ray Walston. Isn't this the one with the James Cameron set design? Some of the shots are reminiscent of Aliens--I think front projection was used very effectively.
Almost got it confused with Forbidden World.

You are correct. The DVD contained bonus features including interviews, and one of the interviewees (I forget who) said that Cameron acted like he was running the whole show, as if he were the director. Even back then he had a massive ego.

This is an interesting little horror sci\fi yarn. The low budget and some cheesy acting let it down a bit, but it is still visually strong and has an intelligent theme, about the illusion of fear. It's exploitative factor in some scenes feel a bit out of place though. I saw this around the time Monster: Humanoids From The Deep and The Beast Within were released theatrically. It was my least favorite of the 3. Which was your favorite of the three?
