vegalyra For some reason I rather like the styling of 1970s/1980s economy cars....though I guess I'm in the minority there.

vegalyra For some reason I rather like the styling of 1970s/1980s economy cars....though I guess I'm in the minority there. I like rear wheel drive economy cars with a manual transmission. They are an extinct breed here in the USA now though. Everything "Economy" is front wheel drive and very few are even available with a manual transmission. The 1970's and early 1980's had quite a few rear drive economy cars which was nice. Reason I prefer rear drive is that the handling characteristics are more sporting and a conventional transmission and drive shaft is more maintenance friendly than a transaxle and CV joints.
