Why are there Bulbasaurs everywhere? What is going on here? Where are the Squirtles and Charmanders?

Hey, I bet Squirtle's favorite kaiju is Gamera.

Hey, I bet Squirtle's favorite kaiju is Gamera. OMG. He looks just like Squirtle. I wonder if that was part of the inspiration for Squirtle. Is Gamera Japanese?

Yeah, Gamera is Japanese. He's Daiei Film answer to Toho's Godzilla. I think Japan just likes turtles. They are the home of the kappa after all.

I think you could be right about Japan liking turtles and I have noticed there are a number of turtlelike creatures in Japanese animated shows and video games. A lot of the Koopas in Mario video games look more like turtles than dinosaurs like these ones below.

I hate the Koopas with the hammers. They caused me to die heaps of times in Super Mario Bros 3. I want to take their hammers off them and dong them into next year.

Speaking of Mario Bros. where's a video with some Mario jokes that will make you look at our beloved plumber in a new light.

I haven't heard that. Thanks for sharing. I plan on getting Mario Kart for the Switch so I can challenge my brothers when John comes to visit next. Those were good times.

Playing 'Mario Kart' with other people is always a good time and I remember playing the first 'Super Mario Kart' game with Beccy when it first came out on Super Nintendo and that was very primitive looking compared to how the games look now and I was horrible at it but I improved and got better as the games kept coming out and I am really good at Mario Kart games now. I am pretty good with all the Mario games and I have beaten every Mario game I have played and the hardest one for me was 'Mario Is Missing' 'cause I had no idea what to do in it and kept getting lost. 'Super Luigi U' is pretty hard too but that has more to do with the time and I hate how fast they make you play the levels 'cause I like to look around at things.

I forget which incarnation it was, but it had a shortcut on Rainbow Road where if you drove off you'd get a huge lead. So I decided to take it, natch. Only it was the wrong spot and I sailed off into space. My brothers knew what was going to happen but were stunned speechless. After it happened they were laughing so hard we had to pause the game.

I don't think I came across that one but I did find a number of shortcuts in the 'Mario Kart' games and there were some in 'Mario Kart 64' where you could go to the areas in 'Super Mario 64' which makes me wonder why they didn't make more levels from the main games into courses 'cause some of them could be good. One they did which I like was 'Isle Delfino' and there were two courses that took place there and 'Isle Delfino' was also used in the 'Super Smash Bros' games. If you love the Mario Kart games you really should check out the 'Sonic All Stars' games 'cause they are just like Mario Kart games with Sonic characters and 'Transformed' is one of my favourites.

Man, you're bringing back a lot of good memories. I love the Mario Kart games. Heck, I love Mario in general. Cannot wait to get my hands on Mario Odyssey. That game looks amazing. I'm even looking forward to this bit of weirdness.
