Lets say they were never fired but still had tensions with Kennedy and Kasda, how would that affect the film itself?? I must say when I first heard about them directing I was excited that they wanted a these up and coming directors but I was always wondering if they were right for the film, as they are mostly comedy guys. Oh well I just wanted to post that.

it would have turned out like Guardians of the Galaxy sans the nipple, turd & penis dialogue but maybe with some dance offs.  That would have been the worst thing to happen to SW after the Marvel humor and Yo Mama jokes in TLJ (that stuff ages soooo well). Star Wars is classic space fantasy made for the long turn - pop references, modern adlip acting etc do not agree with that.
Kennedy & Co seem to have realized that and pulled the plug at the last moment. Better late than never. |

I wonder which Star Wars director she'll pull the plug on next. i would have said Johnson, as he might have soured on the warm welcome the fandom gave him, but then again the game of thrones guys seem dangerously independent artistically and without a genius creator behind them, who knows how good they really are. |

It probably would have been aesthetically inconsistent. The film would be recognized as having Lord and Miller's style of irreverent comedy, but it would have been sharply different from the more serious western sensibilities from Lawrence Kasdan. In the end, you would probably think you are watching two different films.

I admit, only a tiny part of me wants Rian to direct a new trilogy just so that pissed off fans will shit on it. I'm grateful that I still enjoy Disney Marvel films. |

Though perhaps if they came to an agreement with Kasdan to make it something similar to his own western Silverado which was pretty funny but had plenty of dark moments and knew when to let serious moments leave an impact. |

Did KK even watch The Lego Movie or 21 Jump Street? Probably not since most middle aged women dislike comedies.
