a new york state of fine
the subways of nyc
are spattered
with all manner of business types
in their brooks brothers tights
working their
high wire acts from station to station.
we longed to reach across the tracks
as they smiled back
admiring our inclination
to boldly dress
like no new yorker had ever dressed before.
brilliant pinks
and
luscious yellows.
well duh
we are dapper fellows.
and
i suppose
they secretly yearned to let go.
yes,
we fell in love with the males of new york.
but this
obsession with black and dark gray
is enough
to make me tag them all
with
spray paint.
