Why do the Anthology movies look more like the OT than the ST??? it's not just the ST being set 30 after ROTJ, the CGI AND Practical effects/Costumes/Aesthetic updates in VII and VIII just look bad as compared to RO or even the trailer to Solo. Anyone here agrees with this???

Anyone here agrees with this??? I agree that they look more like the OT. I wholeheartedly disagree that it's a bad thing.

I think it's because the anthology films are set in the time period as the original trilogy so the films have to have resemble them in terms of production design.

We just have R1 vs the two Saga movies to base that on thus not a real pattern, but if correct, it would make sense as the anthology films play in OT time period so far.

Anyone here agrees with this??? My theory is it's because the anthology films are geared more towards the established, traditional fanbase aka long time SW nerds (as Disney, Kay Kay, and JJ see us). The episodic movies are their "bread and butter" cash cow. On the surface they're veneered with OT nostalgia. But they are really just another Disney warrior princess story filled with Disney magic and heel characters. The same formula that has netted them almost a billion dollars a movie minimum in most cases. It's why I don't really see the episodic movies as real SW anymore.
