I guess it was in the same vein that people used to dress up when they had to fly on a plane.... I suppose it was.... the vane vein. - "BOO!" actually dapper day was started by a former employee of disney. who while glancing through the archival photos couldn't help but notice that everyone back in the early days dressed up. so he got together with some friends and decided that this would be a wonderful sign of respect shown towards walt and all the tens of thousand of cast members who keep his dream alive. and dapper is how you define it. it can be any style from any era but it HAS TO be to the NINES! Whether its top hat and tails or a gown that looks like she could sail! That sounds like a great theme day! My late husband, who had a horrible childhood, loved to go to Disney World as an adult, with me at his side. He would turn into a kid and have a great time, totally absorbed in the magic. It was a treat to be a part of it. He has been gone for a long time, now, but one of the last trips we took was to Disney World. Had there been a 'Dapper Day' back then, he would have been a participant. A few years after I lost him, I was staying with an old college friend who was a Disney illustrator, and we went to Disney Land. It was bittersweet; I had gone to Disney Land as a kid, and it was fun to compare the two perspectives, but I couldn't help wishing that he was there with me. I have hundreds of photos of him, posing next to a ride or attraction, with a big grin on his face.

If you look at the picture, you’ll see two guys (next to each other) in a suit and tie. Who goes to Disney WORLD dressed like that? The mob?
