Now this is an interesting question. I know some of you aren't too fond of the idea of another Superman prequel but who do you think will play Lois Lane and Lex Luthor? I think Meghan Ory would be the best on this list 'cause I could see her as Lois Lane but I think they should go with a bigger star 'cause if they want to get people to watch another Superman prequel a good thing to do would be to get a popular star. 10 Actresses Who Could Play Lois Lane In ‘Metropolis’heroichollywood.com/actresses-lois-lane-metropolis/11/

Of the list you posted I'm with you on Ory, as for hiring a popular actors for the roles I dunno, the more popular the performer the higher the paycheck and as it's for a show to air on the DC streaming service iirc then do you really shell out big bucks for a performer when these days the performers name recognition means less than the brands? Thing would be imo is hire a name for a regular but reduced role so they come in cheaper but you get their name value for the show but you cast lesser known but break out hopefuls in the lead roles hoping their talent along with the chance help them blow up big and you have them signed on cheap for several seasons whilst they build the show and your service.
I have no clue who I would want as Lex, I mean you want a Rosenbaum type not an Eisenberg type imo and I cant help but just want to see Michael Rosenbaum bald again playing Lex, it wont work and no one would do it but dammit I want it.
Don't you just hate the inconsistency of those lists though, I mean it's a list of who should play this definable character shouldn't the people listed share some commonality which makes them work for the character, instead their all over the shop in every regard, age, race, talent, availability, recognisability and so forth, it is less a list of 10 best people who should play Lois Lane but here's the 10 random actress's we wanted to list and here's how we contorted ourselves to justify it, I mean I don't even think they all have black hair ffs, also list of best people then include unproven talent just because who their mom was or choose people based on what they do in their personal lives, IDGAF what a performer does in their personal life, Neil Patrick Harris is gay but he was the awesome at playing Barney the horny womanising magnificent bastard in HIMYM it's called acting.

Yeah. The lists are very inconsistent and the thing is most of them always turn out to be wrong and whoever ends up playing the role of Lois Lane is probably going to be an actress we haven't even mentioned on this thread or board for that matter. I liked Meghan Ory in 'True Justice', 'Once Upon A Time' and the short lived 'Intelligence' among other roles she played but she is a lot older than most of the actresses listed there so I am not too sure about her being a possibility for Lois Lane in a prequel show when she is 35. She is more of the right age to play Lois in a show where Clark is already Superman or guest appear as Lois in 'Supergirl.' It will be interesting to see what the ages of these characters are 'cause with Lois she could be any age from a teen to her late 20s and in 'Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' Clark and Lois were in their early 30s in the first season when Clark become Superman and I think Lex was in his 40s but then in 'Smallville' they were younger. I wouldn't mind seeing them go with an older Lex and they could make Terry O'Quinn fans dreams come true and have him as Lex Luthor.

She's too young to be Lois in Supergirl imo, as doesn't Clark only become Superman in his late twenties? In SG Kara lands as a teen when Superman is already as iconic hero and then grows up and is in her mid twenties by seasons start maybe older, she seems the same age as Barry and he's meant to be 29 at this point, which puts Clark atleast 40 or more and Lois I think is meant to be a little older as she's the veteran reporter of the two of them, it's one thing having Superman look incredibly young for his age he's an alien but what's her excuse?
I still wish they weren't doing a prequel series, I said it before but a series about a post-superman metropolis is far more interesting when you have the rise of the supermen to take over for Kal-El, Luthor living with the regret and frustration of his actions and not being the one to end Superman, Lois dealing with the loss of Clark and the city trying to regroup after the battle that killed Superman.
But that's just if they wanted to do a "Metropolis" show otherwise I would love some variety.

This could be an interesting show, in the tradition of Kolchak the Nightstalker. I can easily see Lois doing something like this, since she is an investigative reporter. But I am curious as to what causes Lex Luthor to accompany her, since he is running a multi-million corporation.
Kinda funny. Lois isn't usually depicted as being interested in the paranormal. That is more like Smallville's Chloe Sullivan. Guess Metropolis' Lois is something of an amalgam of the two.
What I am curious about is how many Superman villains we will see on this show, ala Gotham.

Yeah. She is. They should have had Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher reprise the roles of Lois and Clark. They have been wanting to make another season of 'Lois and Clark' and only that they gave them different roles in this show it would have been fun seeing them come back as older versions of Clark Kent and Lois Lane. According to the latest rumours I have heard Lois Lane and Lex Luthor are going to be teenagers in 'Metropolis' and I am not sure if they are true but having Lois and Lex the same age seems odd and makes no sense since with the exception of the DCEU Lex has always been older than Lois and Clark and is like 10, 20 and even 30 years older than her in a number of adaptions of Superman. I have a feeling they are going to have Lois and Lex in a relationship together like they did in 'Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' and Lois won't find out he is a criminal until the end. I am not a fan of the idea of another Superman prequel 'cause it has been done so many times already and I wouldn't mind a show about a Post Superman Metropolis or even better a Post Batman 'Gotham' with the Bat Family taking over after Batman has died. That would be awesome.
There are still a lot of other characters in the Superman universe they could do shows of instead of another prequel and they could have a Power Girl, Superboy or Lobo show instead. With Lois being cast so young in 'Metropolis' I think there is a good chance she will still turn up in 'Supergirl' now and I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually have Chloe appear with a different actress playing the role since they have mentioned her twice now.

AS might be hard to do on a limited budget. But I've been wrong in the past. In fact I'm wrong quite a bit.

Atomic Skull could be difficult to pull off on a limited budget but I am really interested in how high the budget is going to be for this and 'Titans' 'cause they are using Raven and Starfire who I pointed out before wouldn't be cheap to use and it is possible 'Titans' and 'Metropolis' being on DC's Online Streaming directly under Time Warner instead of a network like the CW Network could end up having higher budgets than all the shows in the Arrowverse and 'Gotham.' Judging on how poorly they are going with the DCEU I think Warner Bros should put more money into the TV shows and it would be interesting seeing what these shows could do with a high budget.

All depends sometimes it's not about the budget but about the time frame, look at JL they spent MILLIONS on the CG but it still is iffy throughout because instead of having 12-18 months to shore it all up they had as little as 3-4 months due to the extensive reshoots, hence Cavil's mouth, which is where a streaming service can serve you better, network TV has strict schedules they need to follow which is why even when a show pools their money for the finale of a season the CG can look shitty because they can have as little as 6 weeks to render the CG for an episode, where as the earlier season has months to do that shit because they start filming sometimes prior to the summer and CW shows don't air till Oct so they have 4 months sometimes to get those early episodes done.
AS could be done just not as people are used to in the comics, you could simply hold off on showing him a lot or what you do show you do so in pure CG scenes so the difference between CG and LA isn't obvious, hell the flaming Skull could only be used when he's using his powers and otherwise he looks human, you can do anything these days trick is knowing when to do something and when not to, like Starfire in animation you can go nuts with her powers, she can fly around just out of boredom, but in LA that cost money for a meaningless joke, same with Beast Boy just because he can shapeshift doesn't mean you make him do so at extravagant variety for vanity purposes.

Well I think a lot of CGI stands out. So you have to use it along with practical effects.

I haven't seen 'Justice League' yet but I am going to watch it when it is on Foxtel later this month. From what I have read about it the reception was very mixed with some people loving it and some saying it wasn't perfect but a step in the right direction for future DC movies and others saying it was one of the worst superhero movies they have ever seen and worse than 'Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice' and 'Suicide Squad.' The critics were said to be rather split too but I prefer to make my own opinion about a movie after I have watched it and I never trust critics 'cause they crapped over the Horror genre for too many years and did the same with the superhero genre up until the last 15 years. I have heard they have spent a ridiculous amount of money on CGI for these movies and some of it does not even look as good as the TV shows and I am not sure what they were thinking with Doomsday but a lot of people I know who watched 'Smallville' think Doomsday looked better in 'Smallville' in his proper form than he did in 'Batman vs Superman' so I suppose having a high budget doesn't always make things look better and can make them look worse in some cases.
With Atomic Skull I just remembered they were able to pull off the flaming skull head in 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' and I don't think that show had anywhere near the budget of the Marvel movies so it should be possible to do with Atomic Skull but Atomic Skull is a very different character and one that has varied in appearance. He has super strength and atomic blasts among other abilities and he has come back from the dead but I am not sure if that is one of his powers or the writers forgetting continuity since comic books have undone deaths of characters without even acknowledging they died a few issues before. Flying shouldn't be hard for Starfire or Raven (who can also fly) since they have Supergirl flying around all the time and with Beast Boy you just reminded me in the 'Sheena: Queen of the Jungle' TV series she could shapeshift and turned into a few different animals as seen below.

Flying in general will be fine I meant like in the Titans cartoon they can have Starfire flying in loops and circles above Cyborgs head as he makes himself a hotdog in the kitchen and it looks fine because it's all the same animation style and look, in L/A however having a character flying like that above another requires CGI which if you don't have the time to render right looks like shit, Raven wont be as much an issue as she doesn't do that her version of that is levitating whilst meditating that's easy to do and can be done practically with minimum CGI just to enhance it.
Yeah Doomsday in Smallville looked better but that's because he was practical, that was a dude in a suit it looked like, BVS Doomsday was CGI as fuck, plus he looked more like a Bay Ninja turtle than he did Doomsday, that's the thing too many time people use CGI instead of practical effects but practical effect looks so much better, hell use CGI to enhance the practical and it looks almost perfect and gives you damn near full ability to do as you please with stuff, JL storywise I have no problem with and I think you wont either, that's the thing JL was clearly written for people who like these characters and know their stories already, which is where critics get their knickers in a twist because JL is set up similar to Avengers where we are meant to know who everyone is and what their deal is, if you do it works fine if you don't then you moan, hence why critics were mixed but audiences loved it those who saw it atleast, and seeing as you are one of the more knowledgeable comic fans on here I doubt you will have issue following the story, it's just the CGI I dislike really.

Just a thought. I wonder if this show will make a reference to Fritz Lang's classic of the same name?

What was that about some Atomic skull guy? I couldn't look away from the video. Sheena looked hot until she turned into a rat.

The critics were said to be rather split too but I prefer to make my own opinion about a movie after I have watched it and I never trust critics 'cause they crapped over the Horror genre for too many years and did the same with the superhero genre up until the last 15 years.
I understand what you mean with the flying now and no, I don't think they will have that in the 'Titans' show either 'cause it would require a lot of CGI and wouldn't be worth the money. I am just hoping they get these characters right this time 'cause they have sadly failed us with a lot of other characters in TV shows especially in the Arrowverse where many superheroes and villains have had nothing in common with their comic book counterparts except for their name. We are going to be watch 'Justice League' tonight. I didn't think it was going to be added to the Foxtel Box office until towards the end of the month but it was added last night and we have downloaded the movie in our IQ. I can't say I am a fan of Cyborg's movie look from what I have seen of him so far and think he looked better on 'Smallville' like Doomsday but I liked 'Wonder Woman' and heard Wonder Woman plays a big role in the movie so I am looking forward to it. I will let you know what I thought of the movie the next time I am on here but most people have told me it is better than 'Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice' which I wasn't particularly a fan of so I will probably enjoy it.

Well the writers and producers are not the ones working for the Arrowverse. So that's one good thing. Another is the show is more closely looked at by DC, who have a vested interest in getting these characters right.
