Well, no respecting comedy board can be without a space for Stan and Ollie can they?
Suppose we start by listing our favourite feature, and then short, starring The Boys?
Mine would be : feature - Sons of the Desert; short - Two Tars. Not only is Sons of the Desert a great film with no fat or wasted scenes but it includes a memorable song - and the great Charley Chase!
Of course being Laurel and Hardy, especially with the shorts, sometimes my favourite short is just the one I am currently watching!
Another talking point: Atoll K. L & H's final film, and supposedly a depressing (Laurel being ill during production) disaster, so much so that even die-hard fans avoid watching it. Recently though a longer version has appear restored on DVD, which together with Norbert Aping's book The Final Film of Laurel and Hardy: A Study of the Chaotic Making and Marketing of Atoll K, there's been something of a reappraisal. Views?

I can't imagine my childhood without those two!
My all time favorite is "The Music Box".

I can't imagine my childhood without those two! My all time favorite is "The Music Box". That short won them their only Oscar. Some of their finest work. Apparently the famous steps, still existent remain a tourist attraction, even today.

I loved Brats, it was the only one I ever had on tape when VCRs were still the thing.
I've seen the best parts of Big Business, Tars and Stripes, Fight of the Century, etc., on comedy documentaries of the golden age of comedy and the kings of comedy. Big Business by and far was THE funniest, them destroying a man's home while he's simultaneously destroying their car, all because he didn't want to buy a Christmas tree.
In October our town had a silent film feature for Halloween, which included their film Do Detectives Think?, the first one they were ever in together AS a working pair, and they never missed a beat.
I also saw and loved Habeas Corpus on TCM, LOVED it.
I've also seen The Laurel and Hardy Murder Case which was redone as the 3 Stooges If a Body Meets a Body, complete with the same detective, not as memorable but it was enjoyable.
