The mid-season premiere. Carl really was bitten by a walker. They milked his death to the point I had to change the channel whenever the story went back to him. Morgan's scenes weren't great but still an improvement over Carl's. Ezekiel is still talking like he's King. If they keep his character please tell me he's going to start speaking normally. We already have Eugene's goofy patterns (which I don't mind) and the garbage people (which is ludicrous). Why is Rick always so sweaty/drippy? The kid killing Negan's lieutenant was cool but the reactions of Ezekiel and Carol just show how poor the acting can be (I blame the directing and writing for this).

I had to change the channel whenever the story went back to him. That’s like when someone gives their opinion about a movie they fast-forwarded through. A bit hard to take seriously. I didn’t care for the episode btw.

the garbage people (which is ludicrous) Agreed. I never understood how anybody would think that a group of people forgetting how to speak English after two years of an apocalypse was a good, or remotely realistic, idea.... It's Beyond Thunder Dumb. And yeah... the Ezekiel thing... Is anybody really gonna start role-playing like it's a renaissance fair when zombies attack.... at the same time while training a tiger to be a loyal pet? - "Zounds! I am thine king!" - "Shut the fck up, Kenny.. and help me dig this latrine."

Except I've seen the writing and acting for this show for many years so I figured I knew after the first couple of Carl scenes what was going to come. He'd lay there dying while Rick and Michonne are all teary over him. The dialogue would be poor and the acting not much better. I also watched the final scene so did I miss anything in any of the other scenes (of which I did catch the occasional snippet)? Given what I did see I didn't miss anything. TWD does not do emotional dying drama very well. I'd say the very first episode of the show with Morgan and his wife was still the best loved one dying/dead scene.

I rather enjoyed it, but I was drunk at the time. I should say it was better than I expected. Morgan ripping that guy's guts out was pretty cool. I was reminded of Micheal Myers as he was stalking down Gavin. I even had sympathy for Gavin, he was my favorite Savior!! Although the real reason they killed off Carl was never discussed, it seemed obvious to me in his scenes; he was a (young) man, and could no longer play the kid/child role anymore.
