I went to see Every Day today. yep, the YA movie about teenage love, including a sci-fi element of one individual waking up in a different body every day. from the trailer and all I knew about it I was prepared to be somewhat entertained by it but to recognize that its a "bad" movie. Badly done, stupid, or silly at the very least. Or cheap, cheesy, too sweet, you know what I meen. Young Adult movies about teenage love. But I ended up not only enjoying this one, but also actually liking it A LOT. And thinking about the ideas it presented seriously. And… wait for it… thinking that on some level it was kinda… profound. yep I said it. I am supposed to write a review about it tomorrow, and right now there is very little I see thats wrong with it. I may have a slightly different feeling about it tomorrow, but at this point I would rate it close to 8/10. Have I had a stroke in the cinema? Should I get my brain checked? Am I getting too old/stupid/something? Or is it possible that somehow almost everybody else is seeing it wrong, when rating it poorly? This is not like with Adam Sandler movies, that I also enjoy, but I recognize they are often not great (or nowhere near "profound"). But this one is different. Was it perfect? no. but I thought it was genuinely very well directed, acted, and offered unique ideas. This has never happened to me with this genre and execution. I didnt like Twilight, Before I fall, If I stay etc.. but this one really stuck with me. Now what….

yep, thats what i was afraid of. i may now be permanently broken. quit enjoying life!. easier said than done. i am hoping someone else (who has seen it) will join the debate though. its now the day after and I still like the movie. (to the point that i tweeted at one of the actors in it saying that their performance stood out and it was great). yep, thats another first time for me. i will have my lobotomy cake now.

Not at all. I liked the first two Divergent movies and am still sane. Ish. well thats of some comfort, but I not only liked it, I found it…. profound and unique and all. I am going to have to give it a high score, since thats how I honestly feel, knowing my usual readers will be surprised and may be somewhat angered/disillusioned, but even after a day of thinking about it, I still see it as a very good movie and simply cannot give it a lower score than 7. I might even… see it again

it was just so beautiful and so amazing. tell me more! So i take you saw it. And liked it. Great. Lets talk about it. please. I agree with your assessment, obviously, but I would like to know if MAYBE this is a movie that has this impact mostly on women, because of how romantic it is, giving the notion of the soul being more important than the looks? And that appealing to women because of all the pressure society puts us under, regarding our looks? what did you find so likable about it and were there any parts you didnt like? I wasnt overly excited about her fixing the relationship of her parents or the speech on "go get closer again", but other than that one scene, i still cant find anything i wouldnt like about it.

This is one of my favorite films: thanks, do let me know what you thought once you have seen it. regarding your film: but do you like it and realize its a bad movie (that you still enjoy, that happens) or do you like it and think it actually is a high quality movie? because thats my problem. i dont see the movie as bad. thats what "scares me". I think its actually very good.

NoraI think it's a quality movie. Good story, good pacing, and has a lovely theme about over coming your environment and making your own way. And the head werewolf is ultra smoking hot, which helps Fun fact: Olivier Martinez was married to Halle Berry.
