Does it even bother you that you have been caught repeatedly not even being able to comprehend basic English? Well, it should bother you more that you have not given a coherent, cogent nor logical answer to probably my last 8-10 posts. You are letting the team down. I mean I know the whole gun thing is too embarrassing butt seriously up the anti on more philosophical questions. OK? * ante

I can't stand those liberal (and conservative) pussys who are terrified of any sort of violence or death.
It's unbelievably childlike.

As much as I despise religion, and especially the most backwards religions, this woman deserves to be saluted for her devotion to doing the right thing. How many anti-death penalty atheists would make the same choice under the same circumstances? What a ridiculous suggestion. Are you seriously postulating that her religion alone is causing her moral stance and that atheists are not capable nor willing to do the same? Prove it. This is not a good time for you to be demanding proofs. What you can do is argue that atheists might do the same thing. Maybe tomorrow you'll have an example. Then talk about proofs.

He asked a question, how many athiests would be prepared to do this. And by and large I see more religiously devout doing this sort of thing, yes CO are more even, but that might have something to with not wanting to die, or as cool pointed out in the thread not saying your stance was religious in nature as your religion may have fought. Outside of CO, you do see this occuring most often in religious people, take that woman in florida who refused a license to a gay person and lost her job for it, she was wrong, but she was commited. I think it is problematic to differentiate atheists and theists on the ground of the strength of their morality, and whether or not they will act on it, hence my calling out Cash. To me this is part of a truism and urban myth. It also really annoys me to infer that people of faith necessarily have stronger moral convictions than atheists. Its a generalisation, but you do tend to see religious people standing up for what they believe more vehemently than non-religious. Not always and dirty tree hugging hippies tend to be an exception, but is it a fairly accurate generalisation.

Lovely. We agree to disagree. I just thought of one significant example. The fact that given an ( controversial ) opportunity to vote on the issue, the people of Australia voted at a 'YES' rate of nearly 63% in favour of same sex marriage laws being changed to allow gays to marry. I think that shows an anti-religious vigour, don't you, since the 'religious' vote was defeated, despite the atheist and other voters having no intrinsic establishment forum such as 'church' to vent and promulgate their views ?

I am beginning to agree with cash regarding your comprehension. Going to jail over a principle is considerably more of an infringment on your life than voting. In addition I am religious and would vote in favour of same sex marriage, so there is no way of knowing if religious people stuck to their principles more than non-religious, just like your co thread.

Think 'conscientious objectors'. Cash is a dick. PLEASE re-think your position. Anyway it is a position which is unlikely to be proven or disproven so please be prepared to just seem a dick along with him in his position of putting ownership of guns ahead of human life and liberty, and the arrogance of his assertions.

Apologies for not specifying that the provable position I was referring to re Cash is the gun position and not the atheist v theist referred to above. This is relevant because he dismisses EVERYHING that I say because he is a gun nut and can't contemplate a life with out them albeit with the payoff of way fewer of his fellow citizens being maimed and killed by them, hence my logical anti-gun arguments irritate him excessively. As you say, the atheist theist thing is mere generalisation upon which we agree to disagree, mainly because I view it as an urban myth and theist propaganda promulgated by the objective moralist theistic crowd ,to re-enforce their position by putting others down.

No biographer of Hitler except for Bullock has claimed he was an atheist, Bullock retracted that claim in his first re-release.

I'm well aware of his religious views. He later in his life rejected Christianity (mainly because he could not come to terms with his Messiah being a jewish hippy), but he was certainly not an atheist. He made numerous references to God in his personal writings. There's evidence he even at least entertained the idea of Creationism. He had admiration for Islam. He actuaully despised atheists, mainly because of their association with communism/marxism.
