In Melbourne we have got access to probably the best water in the world. Never need to drink bottled water at home. Even places like university libraries provide highest quality tap water. I only have to buy bottled water when I am travelling or away from home for a long time. But there was a time when I used to live in a place where the tap water was of very low quality and had to drink bottled water or use filter.
So what about you? Do you drink tap water of bottled water?

Tap water. Bottled water is the dumbest invention since the prostate gland warmer.

Tap water. Bottled water is the dumbest invention since the prostate gland warmer. I read a report an year or two ago that even most bottled water manufacturers admit that there is almost no difference between quality of tap water and bottled water they manufacture in majority of the regions of the world.

It's been known that a lot of bottled water is nothing more than filtered tap water. I've never bought it either except when I travel. My home has a holding tank and we catch Rain water. We use it for everything - Yes drinking from the tap.

I fill 5 gallon and gallon containers with reverse-osmosis filtered water, and also filter my own with a brita filter.
So filtered tap. Stopped buying bottles. Used to fill a giant recycling bin with them every 2 weeks.

We use it for everything - Yes drinking from the tap. Precisely. Besides, your local water company filters it themselves. I even received a pamphlet in the mail one time describing how the process works. If you're paranoid or just really uncertain, buy a filter for your faucet. At least you'll know the water is being filtered by yourself. Save your money and don't buy overpriced bottles of water from brands like Dasani. They think you'll purchase it simply because it's owned by The Coca-Cola Company. Boy, what a stupid trend. It started in the 1980s because people thought it was "cool" and "safer" to have water in a bottle, and it hasn't stopped since.

We have a reverse osmosis system in the house which purifies and detoxifies the well water. We have a separate faucet at the kitchen sink, and another line going to the refrigerator for ice and cold water. If out, we drink bottled water.

...I live in an area that boasts of its so-called pure tap water. When I take the filter off of my tap to clean, it is filled with black gunk. Bottled water, thank you very much. I also use distilled water in my steam iron.

The only time I drink bottled water, is when I am abroad in countries where they either don't care about the enviroment or is tropic where bacteria or other diseases is common in the water. I have my own well with pure and delicious water.

Both. There are some brands whose bottled water taste significantly better to me than tap water.

Filtered tap water (in the kitchen) and unfiltered tap water where the filter isn't available. (I'm also in Melb.)
