In my mind, Indiana Jones had his last adventure in 1989 and rode off into the sunset with his dad.

Crystal Skull gets a bad rap, in my opinion. But, I just don't see the need or even much of a demand for another entry....

I will admit it's not as bad as people say, but it does feel unnecessary and weaker in comparison to the original three. The only need or demand for this movie is Disney wanting to make money.

They didn't just nuke the fridge, they nuked the franchise. I see no point to making a sequel with Ford. Don't want Shia LeBeouf anywhere near it, either. Best to get on with the inevitable reboot instead.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Prunes
Why are they doing this? I just hope he doesn't die in it...especially on a bridge. Wasn't fun to watch Harrison Ford do that in the last movie I saw him in.
To the above poster who saw him ride off into the sunset after the Last Crusade. I'm with you 100%.

That's unfortunate. Hopefully it's better than Kystal Skull. KOTCS was enjoyable for the most part but still a disappointment after so many years. If this new one is half as enoyable as raiders and last crusade then ill be okay with it.

I will admit it's not as bad as people say, but it does feel unnecessary and weaker in comparison to the original three. The only need or demand for this movie is Disney wanting to make money. The thing about CS, that bothered me was... It felt like the movie was Pieced together.. The other films had like a "formula"... but when all three films were made, they just happened to fit to that formula. CS, felt like it was made the other way... For example... I love how the first three films would start of with the paramount logo, and then would fade to the image of a mountain... Well, TOD, was a molden gong shield... But, In CS, they used some cheap CGI groundhog mound. It was like they said: "Gee, we have to have this paramount mountain thing at the beginning, so how can we do that?" "I don't know, I just don't want to go on some location search!" "How about we just do some CGI thing?" "Great!" The whole movie felt a lot like that. "Let's just shoot all these parts, and then try to put them together to create a movie." It felt cheap. I was disappointed in that. As long as they, put more "effort" into it this time around, I will think it will be a good movie.

I think with 'nostalgia trip' movies like The Force Awakens, Fury Road, and Jurassic World having set a precedent (for better or worse) they have something better to work from than KOTCS had. That was released right when these types of blockbusters were getting started and as someone that liked Indy 4 for what it was, I'll admit the nostalgia and new elements never quite meshed together. As someone else (TheJerk I think? Thank you) previously mentioned, #4 had a 'studio notes' feel to it. Besides, that Tintin movie Spielberg did a few years ago showed me that he's still game for adventure movies.

Having watched KotCS recently its not as bad as people claim. But Harrison Ford just isn't the same and lacks that energy and zest that peaked during Temple of Doom where he was all-action for 90 minutes. If there is a new film I want to see Indy take a back seat and be more of a academic mentor to a younger Indy wannabe, and not try to be the Indy we used to love.

I get the feeling that Indiana Jones 5 will be the "Creed" of the franchise. But then you could ask what the point is for having Ford just play a mentor instead of being out where the action is. It would be like having a James Bond movie that has Bond just give a lecture at a desk for 2 hours.

Maybe because Skull got roasted they feel they wanna make up for it? I say leave it be. Perhaps they will go another direction and do a younger Indiana?

I know what you're trying to say, but it doesn't really matter how old he is when the movie comes out.
