No way is Thatguyson the user psyckolosus on superhero hype. Id bet a lot of money on it. That psykclossus guy is an annoying repetitve MCU-tard, Xmen hater, very different to how Thatguy posts and thr style of language. Clicking on that link, just now, is the 1st time I've been there.

I think some fans in general conflate style and tone with storytelling far too much so now it forces people to pick a side in the wrong fight. That really irritates me. Neither the XMEN movies or the DC films as a whole wound up becoming outpaced by the MCU simply because they took themselves seriously or chose a different style like a drama or a horror, etc. The bad ones were hampered by bad storytelling decisions and studio interference. Same as with any other film franchise. I welcome variety to the superhero genre, that's what keeps it from getting stale. Whether it's broad comedy, action, horror, drama, whatever. Make it good. Remember that two year dead zone in the first superhero movie boom between 2006 and 2007 when most films that were released sucked or were mediocre? No matter what their tone or stylistic choices were. Superman Returns, XMEN: The Last Stand, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Spider Man 3, remember that? Then in 2008, something amazing happened. We got Iron Man and The Dark Knight which were opposite ends of the spectrum and did just fine. People may have their preferences between the two but both were just great well made movies. I'll throw in Hellboy: The Golden Army as a third example that is content to be in the middle and it was part fantasy/horror on top of that! Now let me make this topical, since we're on the XMEN board, I think New Mutants has a chance to be good. Venom, I don't expect it to be good since it's indistinguishable from any other standard Hollywood blockbuster if not for that logo at the end. It's not that superhero movies shouldn't take themselves seriously or not have fun, they just shouldn't suck at it. When we say DC movies. we talk about the TDK trilogy, tim burton's batman, original Reeves superman movies and some underrated films or over hated films- Superman Returns, man of steel, batman vs superman extended version and watchmen. New Mutants was the only film that showed any real artistic art of all the films in 2018. No surprise MCU fans hate it. MCU does not have to take themselves seriously, that is not my problem just keep xmen away from that. Wait... New Mutants came out already? I thought they pushed it back a year...

He's already formed an opinion on a movie that has only had a teaser trailer and is doing so many reshoots that they pushed it back a year and it might not be the same movie that it would have been if it came out this year.

Agreed I love X Men, MCU, Nolan and even the DCEU despite their movies being disappointing at first. I don't understand why he craps on the people who made the MCU and like the MCU. Also I wonder how he feels about Nolan saying that Black Panther might get nominated for Best Picture? Kevin Feige also helped start the X-Men franchise. Something he doesn’t want to address. Fiege did that not under Disney. He has to now follow Disney's formula. I do not think Thor 3 would have been silly comedy if Feige made the movie not under Disney. It's like having a new job.

Even Singer stayed away until Rothman was gone.

The only formula Disney has is that they get their movies done on time, on budget and they don't hire Prima Donnas. Leave it to Singer, he'd have made the Asgardians a cult of delusional LARPers living in a musty castle.
