I really think WB rushed things. MoS was ok to start the DCEU - an unpopular opinion I know - but BVS tried to do too much. Instead of just being about Batman and Superman, they had to include Doomsday, WW and lay the seeds for Justice League. WB tried to do too much at once. You're not wrong at all. WB/DC should have followed the MCU model just out of caution and made solo movies for the JL members, barring perhaps Cyborg and maybe the Flash since Ezra Miller apparently was likable enough despite limited screentime. I think it's more where they started them and what stories they used. Why start out with Doomsday and use KGBeast instead of making him John Corben and Metallo for the end? Why start Batman with The Dark Knight Returns? They should have treated this like the superhero world is fairly new.

Even him! I was meaning "kill" off the guy working for Luthor in that village when Superman saves Lois (KGBeast), but they could have used Scoot, also. Did they really name a character that then put him in a wheelchair? But yeah his story could totally work for Metallo. He had a major hate for Superman and would have done that to get back at him. Wow... Now thinking about it, they laid the groundwork for a Metallo movie then went into a totally different direction.

I don't mean to be rude, but does anybody even care about this anymore? To be honest, I don’t really care about any superhero flicks any more—except for the JCEU. That’s the wonder of wonders (and marvel of marvels… Do I have to cover my hide here because of these superhero boards?).

Yeah. I mean the director of the Nightwing movie is going to film dungeons and dragons, which has a 2021 release date. Who knows if Nightwing will be made before or after. Yeah. It doesn't sound like 'Nightwing' is going to be coming out anytime soon especially with 'Batgirl' being put on hold and no further updates about the other Bat Universe movies I would say Warner Bros have absolutely no idea what they are doing. I think they will still come out but we might be waiting until 2030 with some of them. Well, that seems to be the case. This makes one wonder, why did WB even bother to announce this film if the director is going to work on another project that might take 3 years to complete? Nightwing movie may get delayed for 5 years or more

You guys are reading my mind...I was so sure they were going to turn the BvS Wheelchair guy into Metallo. But, all we got was disappointment.

Well, 'Krypton' is out now (it doesn't air here in Australia until Wednesday) and I was pretty sure it was going to air 'cause I have never seen the Syfy Channel air trailers and do a lot of promotion for a show they didn't air and I think 'Titans' and 'Metropolis' will air whether it is on the DC Online Streaming Service or Netflix but I am not too sure about 'Project 13.' Elizabeth Banks was set to direct it and it was going to be on the CW Network but I haven't heard anything new about it since last year and Elizabeth Banks appears to be doing other things. So that means it's trusted to be a thing. A lot of this stuff could names on a board that got out to the public. 'Krypton' is definitely a thing. They just aired the second episode of the show and knowing what the Syfy Channel is like with Comic Book TV shows like 'Wynonna Earp' and 'Van Helsing' I think it will at least go for 4 seasons and more if it is successful. The Green Lanterns and Omega Men are going to be in 'Krypton' and 'Hawkman' is too and Geoff Johns has said you can expect a lot of other characters to appear. A lot of fans who were unsure of the show are now tuning in to see the other characters which is going to help with the ratings in the long run depending on what other characters they use. We will have to wait and see with 'Titans' and 'Metropolis' but one thing that is said to be certain is all the 'Arrowverse' are going to be renewed.

Nightwing movie may get delayed for 5 years or more I think they are doing it just to get the fans excited and get everybody talking about. They have announced a heap of movies like 'Nightwing', 'Batgirl', 'Birds of Prey', 'Gotham City Sirens', 'Deadshot', 'Lobo', 'Booster Gold' (apparently it is still happening) and 'Black Adam' that have no clear release dates and while the directors and other people working on those movies have said they are going to happen it is Warner Bros who are in charge of the main decisions and so far they are not giving the people working on these movies any reason to think they are going to go through. It is not only unfair to fans but to the people making them and I wouldn't waste my time writing a script for a movie unless I knew the movie was guaranteed to go through. Hopefully they will all happen especially 'Batgirl', 'Nightwing' and 'Birds of Prey' but I am not keeping my hopes up with the DCEU anymore. I have far more faith in 'Fathom' and 'Soulfire' and the 'Aspen Universe' happening now since Mythos Studios bought 50 percent of the Aspen Comic Book company and have a clear goal unlike the DCEU at the moment.

When you keep holding something off for too long the excitement dies. They just announced the start of Gambit filming for June with no director. No one cares about the Gambit movie anymore.

Did anyone care in the first place? Gambit's never been that interesting a character. I think in the beginning, yes. After X-men Origins people wanted more Gambit. When Tatum was announced people still wanted a Gambit movie, but mostly without Tatum. Then time went on and the care went away. With no director staying on for more than a couple weeks and it going nowhere, why still care? It's like the Flash movie at this point (but who wants to watch 2 more hours of Miller running like that?).

The Flash is a pretty hard character to do when the story is centered around him, given how his power basically kills all real drama. You usually have to write him as an incompetent for the plot to work (like his TV show eventually did) or depower him so he can't really go faster than the naked eye.

For the Flash you make it more about Barry. Play up that he's CSI. Do a science detective story that he has to figure something out instead of running all over town to catch someone. Give him a villain that can counter his speed.

The first one being Batman v Superman having KGBeast (with the suit) and Metallo. This is where the Kryptonite plays a bigger role than what we got. Both Batman and Superman still fight and then realize Lex Luthor set both of them up. At the end, Lex Luthtor still wins by making them Public Enemies which helps sets up Part 2, The Dawn of Justice. This is where they are still trying to stop Lex. Lex has a private military behind him who are equipped with Kryptonite weapons, all trying to hunt Batman and Superman. Wonder Woman makes her first appearance in this and I honestly don’t mind the Doomsday at the end for Death of Superman

If there was any movie that would have it, a Doomsday movie would have the drawn out fight for the ending.

In some cases I would agree with that but when you are talking about adaptions of comic books I have to disagree. I seem to recall Marvel going a long time releasing nothing but flops aside from 'The Incredible Hulk' TV show like 'Howard the Duck', 'The Punisher', 'Captain America' and 'Nick Fury' and while 'Spider-Man 1977' wasn't as poorly received as them when it first came out it and the two sequels are not looked back on very fondly by 'Spider-Man' fans but despite all that Marvel was able to climb back up to the top and those movies didn't destroy their reputation 'cause they were still having success with their comic books much like DC has been doing. DC have gone a long time without releasing any movies and just focused on TV shows and I think they could easily drop their movies now and focus on comic books and TV shows and come back in 20 years. DC is primarily a comic book company - not a movie company and I don't see Image Comics, Dynamite Entertainment, Aspen Comics, Bubble Comics, Zenescope, Amigo Comics, Action Lab, IDW etc needing a heap of successful movies to keep going and Image Comics is the third biggest selling comic book company in the world and has yet to have 98 percent of their series adapted to screen and yet they are still going strong and 'Saga' is the biggest selling new comic book series of the past 15 outselling anything by DC and Marvel and making the 'Guinness Book Of World Records' with other series under Image Comics for being the biggest selling graphic novel of the past decade too. Aspen is only getting its own movie universe now under Mythos Studios who bought out 50 percent of the company and it didn't need movie adaptions to survive its first 15 years.

Did anyone care in the first place? Gambit's never been that interesting a character. A lot of people I know wanted him in the 'X Men' movies and were disappointed he wasn't in them. I personally think Fox made a mistake leaving him out of the first three movies and underestimated the character's popularity.

I'm meaning announcing a movie then stringing us along for years. We give Flash crap on how bad they are doing with it, but it doesn't hold a candle to Gambit. Those other companies haven't announced live action adaptations and kept us on a string for years with no development. They might announce a movie is going to be made then maybe say the deal didn't go through and nothing is heard from it. WB and Fox are announcing things then give "updates" about how the movie is coming along nicely. They are holding out bait for us to keep interest on something that isn't there. Since they said they are going to make s Gambit movie, they've made 5 other movies (starting from X-men Origins). And the constant problem has been getting the script right. This movie better win best screenplay Oscar.
