Does anyone know where “Swan Song”’s plane scene were shot—at an actual airport or on a set? [At least in the early scenes, it looks like a set.] Because (and this ain’t help our case any) it looks like what I remember from ‘our’ episode.

Thanks, RiP, IMDb . I wonder if that terminal were also the location for the scenes early on before Cash, Lupino, et al., boarded the plane—which looked like a set to me, but what do I know?

jervistetch, Lynx, OldAussieGuys, I’m wondering if I’ve finally found an end to the hunt. I’m watching Columbo’s “Death Lends a Hand,” which I’d always ruled out because its murder-plot doesn’t involve an airplane, on CoziTV right now…and there are some interesting points apropos of our mystery episode. Someone pointed out to me once that Ray Milland’s character (who’s not the killer) tells Columbo a series of events about his being in San Francisco that mirrors our recollection surprisingly closely—except for the murder part, of course. Then he says that Columbo probably thinks he’s the killer. Could that have caused all three of us to invent a scenario in which, despite the alibi, he could be the killer? Unlikely, I know, but then there’s this: There’s another suspect (who also didn’t do it), the golf teacher with whom the victim had been having an affair. In one scene about halfway through, Columbo checks (and we see) an appointment book—like a logbook. Anyway. The problem is that I still remember the erase-the-line-in-logbook scene, which doesn’t appear anywhere. This isn’t an answer—but it’s a lead, or a pseudo-lead, at least.

I've always thought this question was possibly a mis-remembered combination of 2 or more episodes. I hadn't thought of “Death Lends a Hand” because Milland, who has the alibi described, wasn't the killer (although in another episode he was).

I’ve resignedly come to more or less the same conclusion. (Well, I say that, and then I don’t believe it and keep searching!) I hadn’t really thought of “Death Lends a Hand” either, but I was struck by the similarity between what Milland says and what Jervis, Lynx, and I remember. It’d be pretty amazing if we all misremembered it/conflated episodes independently of each other, though.

I’ve tried looking here a few times, in the hope that it’ll come up, because it’s basically (but not exactly) what I remember: Columbo saw pencil marks that had been erased in the logbook and examined them closely to see the actual time that the plane left and came back. jervistetch, Lynx, is that what you guys remember as well?

Has someone checked through the Ironside episodes? I’ve only seen really one episode, which definitely isn’t ours, but at this point I’m willing to try anything.

Yes. That’s exactly what I remember, Salzmank. I really don’t think it’s Ironside. I didn’t watch that show very much back in the day and I really don’t recall it ever being in syndication. That’s not to say it wasn’t, though.

Having a Bad day ? James Bond no-impolite-ness intended nor is an "attitude "
IF you are referring to the big font … When is being used as opposed to IF … it's an in-joke between the FRIENDS who have been in this thread for FIVE pages as would be known IF the entire thread had been read. Have a nicer day,
EDIT: Impolite would have been to answer with READ THE DAMN THREAD AND FIND OUT, DOOFUS ! k ?
