Any one remember this pc? Yes. Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum were great gaming computers back in the days.

That's a blast from the past. A friend of mine used to have one.

on Wikipedia it says 1982-1994 which puts it a bit before my computer days as i first got a computer in 1995 (i would have been 15-16 years old at this time) which is still about 3-5 years before computers where really mainstream.

conspirologistOkay, i see. just shows you how much i know about it right there but then again, come to think of it, i should have known because i can't imagine computers for home users being affordable not all that long before we got ours. so probably early 1990's or so as much before that i imagine they where largely business stuff only and i imagine the same likely goes for general internet.

It was the 2nd. computer I had. I started with its predecessor, Vic 20, which I got as a Christmas present in my second grade. Neither was good for much besides gaming.
A few years later Amiga became the go to thing. Never got one of those. I jumped to the PC, a 286 with an astounding 20 megabyte harddisk (actually that was a little low for the average at the time). The 386 had been released, but was too expensive for me at the time. I did upgrade it with a Soundblaster and changed the diskdrive from a 5ยผ-inch to 3ยฝ-inch, which extended it's lifespan several years until '95, when it was clearly obsolete.

Plus, you could load a variety of software on it, like spreadsheets, word processors, and other productivity software as well. Sure, there were a lot of games made for the C64 too.

Of course! It was awesome - best graphics of the era, till the Commodore Amiga came out. Even came with a little booklet getting you started with 'Basic' programming.
Plus you could download pirate games by the boatload over your baud modem and save them to your dual 1541 floppy drives. bzzzzt...clunk clunk clunk...bzzzt...here it comes!
I played 'Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom' and Zaxxon till the wee hours.
It was the best of times, it was the best of times...
