Which big-budget film had the most goofs?
I can't answer the question myself, I only just got back into film watching.
Anyone have any ideas?

The 1979 Caligula is pretty shoddy technically for a high-profile movie (audio-visual unsynchronised, scenes shot out of focus, etc.), plus scenes or shots that make no sense because of wholesale cuts. Didn't some of the film-makers just have a background in skinflicks?

The "Lord of the Rings" and the "Harry Potter" movies have a lot of goofs.

"The Odessa File" is full of them, but my two top movies for goofs and inaccuracies are "The Imitation Game" and "The Heroes of Telemark".

There's a big goof in BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN. In the end, the monster tells Henry and his wife to flee. "You, go! You live!" he says. They run out, and the monster pulls a lever (pronounced "leever") that "will blow us all to atoms!" He does just that!
Interspersed with explosions and Henry and his wife escaping to the safety of a nearby hill, we actually see inside the castle. Debris is falling, and over to the left, we clearly can see Henry cowering against a far wall! He's shown three times...but how did he get there, if he and his wife are outside and safe?

A Christmas Story is also full of mistakes, some of them very odd. When Ralphie and his family go to Higbee's to see Santa, we clearly hear some kid screaming and crying in the background. When Ralphie makes it up the stairs to Santa, the weird kid with the goggles is ahead of him. The second he sits on Santa's lap, he screams in the same scream we heard earlier. And later, as Ralphie and his family are leaving, we hear the same scream again!
Other mistakes include a scene where the mom is working on the turkey for Christmas. On the table is a jar of pickles. In the very next scene, she comes up from the basement with that same jar of pickles.
At one point, Ralphie's old man comes in and starts complaining about the car freezing up. He throws his hat on the dining room table, and it rolls off onto a chair. When he passes by again, the hat is on the table.
There a lot to mention, but these are but a few.

Hitchcock's classic, Foreign Correspondent, contains a huge blooper. In the end, everyone's on a plane that crashes into the ocean. As water is spilling in, and people are swimming for their lives, the camera bounces up, and we clearly see where the set ends. Above it are several movie lights!

In the scene in Hitchcock's North By Northwest where Eva Marie Saint shoots Cary Grant in the restaurant just before she fires the gun a boy in the background seated at a table against the wall puts his hands over his ears. Either no one including Hitchcock himself noticed it in editing or it was decided that it didn't matter.

Iron Eage from 1986. Had a budget of $18 million which according to Wikipedia was $3 million more than Top Gun which came out in the same year and also has some interesting goofs in it. Iron Eagle for those who might not know is about an Air Force brat who with the help of a Louis Gosset Jr hijacks a couple of F-16's to go and rescue his downed Father who is an air Force pilot that has been shot down. Goofs include, the armament of the planes changing each time you see them even though it is the same flight. A seemingly endless supply of ammunition. Single seat F-16's changing into twin seat F-16's, bombs being dropped while the plane is parked on the ground. It just keeps going www.moviemistakes.com/film658

Rocky IV, though I think alot of them was just slight of hand laziness hoping no one will notice. Example: the newspaper shots during the conferences are actually articles about unrelated topics and the dates are very wrong.

Several big goofs in The Wizard of Oz! You must tell us. Ok, right off the top of my head, when Dorothy first meets the scarecrow, her pigtails go from short to long and then short again within the course of that one scene (and it's very obvious, once you know what to look for). Later, when they get to the apple trees, and the trees start throwing apples at them, the scarecrow and Dorothy run out into the road. If you look closely, Dorothy is not wearing the ruby slippers, but some plain black shoes. When Dorothy's friends rescue her at the witch's castle, they all run down a stone staircase to a door that closes. When they hit the door, either the Tin Man or the Scarecrow suddenly is in a different place. When Toto goes behind the curtain to reveal the Wizard's true identity, we clearly see the curtain is attached to Toto's collar, and that's how it's being pulled. When the Lion sings, "King of the Forest," the Tin Man breaks a vase and puts the rim of it on the Lion's head, like a crown. Later, it falls off and bounces on the floor, like it's made of plastic, not pottery. During the same sequence, the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Dorothy wrap the Lion in a rug that resembles a robe. As Dorothy lifts up the train, she visibly stumbles. When the Wizard is bestowing gifts on Dorothy and her friends, the participants switch places again and again. There are many more, but these are the ones that come immediately to mind!

When Michael's father pulls his mask off, we see a kid with longish, shaggy blonde hair. Kids in 1963 wore their hair very short, usually in a "GI" or something you might see on Leave it to Beaver. The shaggy dos didn't come into play until well after The Beatles hit, in 1964.
When Laurie and her girlfriends see Michael standing by the bushes, he's already wearing his mask. And he's wearing it when Laurie looks out the window and sees him standing with the laundry. And again, you can see the bottom of it when Tommy bumps into him at school.
Considering the hardware store wasn't broken into until hours later, and that's when the mask was stolen, how could he be wearing it beforehand?
