On DishNETWORK...
They have a 4-Star rating. "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight Rises" we're always *** out of ****
The Dark Knight is always ****
Well tonight in AMC, "Batman Begins" is airing. It now has a 3.5/4 rating. Wonder why? It's gaining more and more momentum.

Both are great movies but I also liked Batman Begins a bit more. I think it's a toss up between the two. TDK is more intense, but BB actually has a better story arc. Both great films.

I think it's aged as an underdog Batman film, production & execution wise.
TDK completely takes the shine for the trilogy & then ppl feel letdown to TDKR because of that. Meanwhile, BB is still a great Year One style.

There was a time BB was considered the second coming of Christ. Then TDK cane out and totally dwarfed it.
I don't agree that BB is better written. It's got some of the clumsiest exposition of Nolan's career, and really bad one-liners. Who can forget acting legend Gary Oldman being forced to pause the movie for a toy ad. "I gotsta get me one of dose!"

"I gotsta get me one of dose!" It doesn't ruin it for me, but the extended scene of Batman's first appearance in BB ends with a callback joke that doesn't fit the tone of the scene. "Nice coat." Rewatched it recently and that line felt really out of place.

How about in the midst of everyone being poisoned and the city thrown into utter chaos, some random black guy walking up to the Tumbler and going "Nice ride!"
