I just thought I would share this since we have a thread about 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' and was curious what your thoughts are on 'Cloak & Dagger so far, if you are going to watch it and if you think it will be connected to 'Marvel's The Runaways' or any of the other Marvel shows? I still haven't read 'Marvel's The Runaways' yet but I read they 'Cloak & Dagger' crossed over a lot with the series so I could see both being connected. The first trailer didn't do much for me. But I'm hoping the second one is an improvement.

However, it will likely be its own story, i.e., self contained. There might be a few refrences here and there to the movies though. The show is on Freeform in the US while Runaways is on Hulu, so chances of a crossover are slim. Yup, I will be watching this. I've watched all the MCU shows and have liked them all.

I'm surprised there is a Cloak and Dagger show because they are such obscure characters. Even some hardcore Marvel fans know next to nothing about them.
But that's what I love about the MCU. They're not afraid of a characters obscurity and are willing to take a chance on them. Which has so far worked out for them to great success.
Something the DCEU could learn from, instead of relying solely on Batman and his supporting cast.

Same. Which is funny because I never thought much about the comics characters before.

The problem with DC using obscure superheroes is they are yet to even make movies of a quarter of their biggest selling and most well-known names and we only got a ‘Wonder Woman’ movie for the very first time last year and looking at their biggest series in DC Rebirth and the New 52 we haven’t had The Flash, Green Lantern, Supergirl, Green Arrow, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Birds of Prey, Nightwing or Red Hood and the Outlaws movies yet which are all superheroes that have had their own longtime series in the New 52 and Rebirth. I would like to see them use more obscure characters like the MCU have done but I want to see them make movies and TV shows of all the superheroes that have their own series in DC Rebirth first. We have had movies of obscure characters though even though most of them were flops and how we got movies of Jonah Hex, Steel, Swamp Thing and Constantine before Wonder Woman and The Flash makes no sense to me but they did the same thing with Marvel with Blade, Men In Black, Howard the Duck and Nick Fury all getting movies before ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘X-Men.’ I am not sure why those got movies first before the bigger names.

It does look like it will be self contained and have no crossovers with 'Marvel's the Runaways' since they are both not on the same network or platform (what do they call them now? ) but I am still looking forward to seeing it nonetheless and hopefully we get it here on Fox 8 like we did with 'The Runaways' and the rights don't get snapped up by Channel 7 or we won't see it until it is over. One thing I am disappointed in wth the MCU is even though the shows and movies are all based in the same universe we don't get to see any of the characters from the TV shows appear in the movies and while I can understand it would be expensive to have Robert Downey Jr or Chris Hemsworth turn up in one of the shows I would have liked to have seen Mockingbird and Quake appear in an 'Avengers' movie for example and work with the other superheroes. I feel that would really connect the universes.

Someone asked Chloe about it and this was her response: --- Chloe Bennet, who plays Daisy Johnson, formerly Skye, attended Wizard World Des Moines (via Bleeding Cool) and participated in a Q&A at the event. When asked why the Avengers aren’t showing up on the show despite Hive’s scheme to build an army of brainwashed Inhumans, Bennet took a jab at the folks behind the MCU films, saying: “I don’t know. People who make movies for Marvel, why don’t you acknowledge what happens on our show? Why don’t you guys go ask them that? Cause they don’t seem to care!” “The Marvel Cinematic Universe loves to pretend that everything is connected, but then they don’t acknowledge our show at all. So, I would love to do that, but they don’t seem to keen on that idea.” source

But in fairness to the MCU, it is difficult to use those characters because of the scheduling conflict. In the upcoming Infinity War movie alone, the directors had to consult the cast and crew of Black Panther, Thor Ragnarok and Guardians, plus they had to make sure the schedule fits the other actors who might have other film projects. Adding AoS, the Runaways and the Netflix shows is probably too much.

The DC TV universe has done a better job handling their heroes than the movies overall. I mean, we got to see the Justice Society of America, Jonah Hex, Firestorm, Booster Gold on Smallville etc.

I don't know anything about the characters so I don't know if I like this or hate this. What are their powers? The story of Clock and Dagger is one has a magical clock that can pause time and take them into the future and the past and the other has a magical dagger that is alive and can fly and together they go on adventures and work in a library for an old guy named Jenkins who was a member of King Arthur’s merry men with their guardian Colonel Eve Baird and their friends Jacob Stone, Cassandra Cillian and Ezekiel Jones. I have read all the comics. I know this shit well.

It is something a lot of fans of these shows I know would love to see and there are fans who like the Netflix shows who would also like to see them connect on and have Daredevil and the Punisher in the MCU movies. I think Marvel really missed out on an opportunity making 'Civil War' so early and not waiting until after they got the rights to all of their superheroes to make it 'cause when you look at the roster of superheroes that was in the comic book like Wolverine, Storm, Emma Frost, Mr Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, Daredevil, Deadpool, Ms Marvel, Blade, Spider-Woman, the Punisher, She Hulk, Jessica Jones, the Prowler, Black Cat, the Silver Surfer, Quake, Mockingbird, Namor, Squirrel Girl, Silk, Hellcat, Venom etc it could have been something truly special which would have linked the movies, TV shows and Netflix shows together and had Spider-Man and Wolverine who are two of Marvel’s biggest selling superheroes of all time together in a movie for the very first time but much like Warner Bros with ‘Justice League’ I think they rushed it. Plus, Ike’s hatred of female superheroes was in full force with ‘Civil War’ wiping out the majority of female superheroes that played a vital role in the comic book.
I have heard an event linking the movies and TV shows together could still happen but it looks unlikely now.

'Smallville' not only had the Green Arrow and Booster Gold but also had Supergirl, the Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, Zatanna, Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad, Cosmic Boy, Doctor Fate, Stargirl, Hawkman, Aquaman, Cyborg etc.

Agents of Shield could have made an appearance in Age of Ultron when Nick Fury arrived with the helicarrier, that was a missed opportunity. Many thought the Marvel TV heroes would appear in Infinity Wars but apparently it's not happening. There are two ways to look at the shared universe. The great thing about it is we can see our favorite heroes on the screen together And the interconnection, like the references made in Agents of Shield and the Netflix shows to the MCU, adds depth to the world and makes it seem more real. But keeping the TV and movie separate has its pluses too. If the Arrowverse were part of the DCEU the characters and tone would be different, and we'd be stuck with what the DCEU has to offer instead of having other, better versions of the same character in the CW. The shared universe concept can work both ways for the storylines too. On the one hand, it could restrict the writers' options as they need to make sure what they do is in accordance with the cinematic universe. However, a shared universe also allows the writers to draw from the movies -like Agents of Shield did with Winter Solider - and use it to great effect. In a way it's good that the DCEU and Marvel are taking different approaches as we can see both and how they work.

That Booster Gold appearance in Smallville is one of the few episodes I've seen of that show, and it was a good one. One thing I didn't like though was killing Ronnie Raymond as I liked him as Firestorm.

I think their hands were tied with Ronnie Raymond as they only had the actor for so many episodes and they couldn't extend them because he was on another show. Still sucks though.
