While The Rock was hardly the first wrestler to attempt a transition into Hollywood acting, he’s succeeded beyond the wildest dreams of any who came before him. The Rock especially seems to appreciate the magnitude of Hulk Hogan “passing the torch” to him, similarly to how WWE legend Andre the Giant did the same for Hogan back at WrestleMania III in 1987. The Rock would himself later essentially pass the WWE torch to current top star and multi-time world champion John Cena when he lost to Cena in the main event of 2013’s WrestleMania XXIX. Funnily enough, Cena now looks well on his way to becoming the second wrestler to succeed in becoming a Hollywood heavyweight.Dwayne Johnson is clearly the biggest Hollywood star among former pro wrestlers. And ScreenRant thinks John Cena will soon be the 2nd pro wrestler to be a big Hollywood star, implying that they don't think much of Dave Bautista's Hollywood career.

LOL @ the things that are important to you. You do realize I hope, that nothing you do is going to make DCEU surpass the MCU as the preeminent comic book based shared universe, right? The MCU has the #1 superhero movie of all time. All 18 of their movies are on the RT top 50 list. Even Sky High is better than all DC films other than the fluke that was Wonder Woman, as ranked by RT, which according to you is the be all end all final arbiter of these things.

The MCU has the #1 superhero movie of all time. No, they don't. Based on the totality of ratings, both Wonder Woman and The Dark Knight are better than Black Panther. |

Of course Dave Bautista isn't a big Hollywood Star, aside from Guardians of the Galaxy, he was in Spectre but he never spoke and then he was in that Kickboxer reboot and that was just straight to DVD.

Also in the opening of Blade Runner 2049. But why would he have to be a big Hollywood Star? I'd rather watch him than Jason Momoa every day |

Yet the the whole Academy did not collectively think Wonder Woman deserved any Oscar Nominations and you don't ever mention it.

I don't think anyone thinks Dave Bautista is a "big Hollywood star". He doesn't strike me as the sort that could carry an action movie on his own. A surprisingly good character actor, though. He blows Dwayne Johnson away in that regard.

But I think he will be. And for that matter I think John Cena will be too. These guys can actually act. I don't think they're going to be winning the academy award for best actor anytime soon, but they'll be alright. |
