In your opinion Is it worth buying an N64 for this game?

It certainly was in 1997!
These days, hmm... it's still a good game, but is definitely showing its age now. And Perfect Dark - which is to all intents and purposes Goldeneye's spiritual sequel - is far superior (and definitely worth buying an N64 for).

It's worth pointing out, however, that Perfect Dark requires the N64's memory expansion pack to play properly, whereas Goldeneye does not.

at this point in time... definitely not. while I got some solid nostalgia from the game, as I played it back when it was new-ish, I highly doubt I would think much of the N64 version at this point in time. but with that said... you can always play with it on a emulator for the PC (or even on some other consoles) if you want to and costs you basically nothing. although I would recommend having some decent controller to use on the emulator. I use my XBox360 wireless controller (just get one of those official wireless receivers for it and it will work fine on your PC) for emulator stuff on the PC in general. or, better yet, if you prefer a more modern version of GoldenEye that runs on the PC itself... www.geshl2.com/ ; which is free. it works within Steam. a quick description from that link above... so basically once you got Steam installed... you can then download the "v5.0.6 full installer" (from here... www.geshl2.com/client-downloads/ ) and install it and then make sure you click that link that installs "Source SDK Base 2007" and then your good to go. also, unless you got a fairly old PC chances are you can run it decently as it only requires a dual core 3.0Ghz CPU (anything in the current decade will likely be fine) and 2GB of system RAM which just about every computer still in use should have at least that much and a graphics card with 256MB of VRAM. or put it this way... if you have been playing AAA titles in this decade on your computer chances are your good. either way, you got nothing to lose as it's free.
