Hey now Deb you don't know that's what he meant, he could have been referring to the friendship thing, I mean what does friendship have to do with horror movies anyway? horror films are about 3 things, the scares, the kills and the boobies, there aint no time for friendship when boobies are on display and some scary WAFFLE is trying to kill you.
What are you talking about? Debbie and I have all the time in the world for friendship and love when boobies are on display here. Have you not heard of any fun boobie games?

You know what I really worry about the possible response that question could get out of you two to be honest.

Well, it kinda depends on what Horror movies you are watching. There are a lot of Horror movies where friends go away somewhere together and are slowly separated and gruesomely murdered by a psychopath with a weapon or a supernatural being like the 'Friday the 13' movies and then you have movies like 'Soulcrusher' or 'Souleater' (I think) which was all about two friends fighting monsters and saving the world and what about the 'Phantasm' movies with Mike and Reggie? They were friends and after Mike's Brother got killed off in the first movie Reggie become like an older brother to Mike. There are a lot of Horror movies that have friends together fighting evil and you are forgetting a fourth thing which is the battle between good and evil.

Pfft, good and evil what a jip...wait is it a bad sign if I cannot distinguish between the two??
I mean who is the evil in Friday The 13th films, Jason because he kills or the others who tend to be a no good pieces of shit? I mean the only ones Jason cant kill in those films tend to be the actual likable characters...well except for maybe the poor dude in a wheelchair he machete's in the face in one film, but you know still his victims tend to be arseholes.

Just thought I would share this and I also have some good news for fans here in Australia who are interested in seeing the show. There is a preview show of 'Krypton' airing on the Syfy Channel this week and the first episode of 'Krypton' will air here on the Syfy Channel at 7:30 pm next Wednesday. I am looking forward to seeing what they do with this show and what characters they use.
I just recently finished watching Season 1 of Krypton on Blu-ray, Deb. I quite enjoyed it. I think Nyssa's my favourite. And I just now watched the trailer for Season 2 (I hope you don't mind me posting it in this thread. I didn't particularly wish to start a whole new thread just for the Season 2 trailer. Apologies if it's already been posted elsewhere). I decided to put it in spoiler tags just on the off-chance someone who hadn't seen Season 1 took a look, as I think the image displayed on the video could be regarded as somewhat spoilery.

It is nice to hear you enjoyed the first season of 'Krypton' Chalice and thanks for sharing that trailer with us. What were your thoughts on their versions of Braniac and Zod compared to some of the previous adaptions of them in movies and on 'Smallville?' I liked their version of Braniac and while I really liked James Marsters playing the character in 'Smallville' I am glad they went with something more closer to his comic book form this time instead of just having him in human form and I would probably go as far to say he has been one of DC's best TV Villains and I am looking forward to seeing what they do with him next season. Apparantly this show is going to be very similar to 'Gotham' in which it will have a lot of Superman villains on Krypton but no Superman and I read recently Darkseid is coming next which will be great to see. A lot of fans were disappointed they didn't use the character in the 'Justice League' movie and didn't like the 'Smallville' version so maybe 'Krypton' will give us a great version. Their Doomsday looks like he is going to be really good and scary and with Lobo joining the show I think he will be a hero and will be one of the ones that stop Doomsday from destroying everyone and everything in his path.
Nyssa seems like a good character and I thought they were going to have her as a villain at first but that doesn't seem to be the case now and it will be interesting to see what they do with her next season.

I previously knew of Blake Ritson, who plays the Voice of Rao/Braniac in Krypton, from the TV series Da Vinci’s Demons. I wasn’t overly fond of his character there or the way he delivered his lines, as he always seemed to overenunciate everything he said, but I’ll admit it kind of works for him here. He brought a certain kind of ‘menace’ to the part, though it wasn’t largely different to the other role. I’d like to see him act where he isn’t overenunciating, to see if he can change up his acting style a bit. I definitely found Nyssa the most interesting character in the show.

I have meaning to watch 'Da Vinci's Demons' and I have seen ads for that and have heard good things about it but just never got around to watching it before 'cause we have been watching so many other shows here. What exactly is the show about? Is it a Horror TV Show or is it similar to the Dan Brown novels and movies? Speaking about Horror and Sci Fi types of shows have you ever watched the show, 'Sanctuary' and what did you think of that? It had Amanda Tapping from 'Stargate' and 'Supernatural' as the main star and I really enjoyed the first series and thought the rest of the show was okay but feel it fell apart towards the end.

When's Krypton coming back? According to Syfy it is expected to return on the 12th of June but the date could change.

Krypton Season 2 trailer. Thanks for posting that Chalice. Season 2 looks like it is going to be really good and I am looking forward to seeing what they do with all the characters and I am hoping the rumours about Hawkman coming from before are true so we can get a better version of him than the one we recently had in 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow.'

No, I haven't watched Sanctuary, but I was aware of it and that Amanda Tapping was in it...with a British accent, I think (is that correct?). I've only watched the three movies based on Dan Brown's Robert Langdon books (the only book of his I've read was Inferno - which I really enjoyed, but that made watching the movie less enjoyable as they kind of ruined the ending). Da Vinci's Demons is an odd sort of show, but an enjoyable one (for the most part). I thought Season 1 was the best, Season 2 was a dip in quality, and Season 3 still wasn't up to Season 1's quality but I think I liked it better than Season 2, at least (though something that happened in the final episode annoyed me). I'm not really sure how to describe the show. It's got action/adventure, sex/nudity, some fairly nasty violence, some romance, lots in inventing of contraptions, and some vaguely supernatural elements among other things. I'd say it's worth checking out. Hirundo put me onto it. I'm also a fan of the lead actress in the show (Laura Haddock). The opening credits/theme are awesome.

I am surprised it has sex and nudity 'cause a lot of these Sci Fi types of shows don't have those and I am not sure if it is 'cause of the networks they are on but aside from 'Lost Girl' which didn't really show much most of them rarely have sex or nudity or much blood or guts or even swearing either. I have read most of Dan Brown's novels and having read them ruined the ending of 'Inferno' for me too but I don't mind 'cause I have watched a lot of movies based on books and read the novels first and I am more surprised when they change the ending and it is not as good as it was in the book. Stephen King's 'Cell' was really disappointing to me 'cause I liked the novel and thought the movie adaption of it was horrible and was missing too many good parts of the novel. Here is a trailer for the show, 'Sanctuary.' The first season was the best and I liked Ashley.

Didn’t you say Ashley got written off the show because Amanda Tapping was mad over the attention she was getting from the viewers and she didn’t want the character to become more popular than her and Robin Dunne’s characters so she complained and said she would leave? That is one jealous vindictive move and the actress who played Ashley didn’t deserve that shit.

I really hope that's not true I love Amanda Tapping so I hope she wasn't so petty as to do that, what I recall from the time was that Ashley was deemed "unpopular" by the networks and that the creatives felt killing the character off would make a massive impact on the shw, with the intentions of bringing the character back in some way in S3.
I kind of doubt the idea she did this though myself as wasn't Tapping a producer on the show? star or not she benefitted from the show being as popular as possible, and going on as long as possible.
I also don't recall the character being super popular at the time, but we are talking over a decade ago and Sanctuary was never a major hit from what I recall, I personally didn't mind Ashley as a character and I think I liked her more than Tapping's but that's because I found her character to be not intended to be all that likeable at times, she wasn't meant to be the everyone loves her hero but the more everyone respects her even if they dislike her hero type.
But again my memory is fuzzy as I haven't watched the show since it got cancelled and that was fucking ages ago.

I am not 100 percent sure Dazz but that is what I remember reading on the internet around the time they took Ashley out of ‘Sanctuary’ and then some people working on the set of the show came out and said Amanda Tapping was hard to work with and was an egomaniac and she was angry over how popular Ashley become with the fans and there were viewers writing in to and asking the writers for more Ashley focused episodes and for Ashley to be the main star and Amanda Tapping got annoyed over the attention Emilie Ullerup was getting from fans so she set out to sabotage her character and had Ashley written out of the show and as I said I don’t know how true it really was but it was very weird how they wrote her out of it 'cause they made her out to be a really important character and gave her heaps of screen time in the first season and there were times when it looked like they were going to have Ashley get together with Will but everything was just dropped and the writers told fans for months they were going to bring her back to the show and when they did they killed her off and if it wasn't Amanda I think it is possible somebody else set out to destroy her character and the actress might not have got along with the writers or something. Either way it is still weird and something many 'Sanctuary' fans can't understand when they re-watch the first season.

Or somebody else in charge of the tv show wanted Ashley's actress to have sex with them and she didn’t go along with it. I wonder how many actresses have been fired from roles for that. It is bad enough it is public knowledge it has happened to a few actresses.

I have tried to find stuff on this but for the life of me cant, I don't think it's all that weird though in all honesty, I mean I don't recall Ashely or the actress being this huge thing back then either, could be that she was popular in certain circles, which we see a lot, but they are loud just not actually sizeable.
I think the change doesn't feel odd for the show either from what I recall as didn't they replace the character with another female character which also got pushed out, some shows are just like that, especially shows that don't quite last too long, they are always chasing a magic formula so they have a revolving door of main cast members.
Only thing I found other than what I had already heard was apparently the actress was upset to learn she would be killed off the show, so much so it bled into her performance and she got yelled at for it because the character wasn't meant to be sad, which sounds dickish, she just learned hey your getting fired she should be upset, but I cannot find anything about Amanda being a bitch or hard to work with or anything else, maybe it was just bullshit people made up back in the day?
But in some ways I could see why Amanda would have been protective of her spot on the show, she had the option to renew her Stargate contracts iirc but turned it down when Sanctuary got picked up as a normal show, which she likely took a pay cut per episode to go and do, plus they had less episodes per season, so she took a hit to do the show, so possibly being pushed into the background of a show she was sold on as her show I could see rubbing her the wrong way, but nothing I can see suggest that was the case, so I dunno, like I said I hope it isn't true and was just a arbitrary choose by some exec rather than something underhanded or worse.
