You are right. The writers of the show have yet to reveal his master plan or motivation which is surprising considering we usually know that with most villains on this show after the first episode they have appeared in and they might be doing that to drag out the intrigue and keep fans guessing until they decide to reveal them but I worry they are not going to reveal them at all and we are going to go away from this season having just as many questions as we did in the beginning 'cause they don't know what they are doing themselves and it will never be revealed why DeVoe become a villain or hated The Flash so much. Hopefully I will be proven wrong and we will get some answers but I just don't see him as being a spectacular villain and have been disappointed. I liked the concept of the character as I mentioned before but I feel there was so much more they could have done with him that they couldn't do and if they were going to give the Flash an opponent than spent most of his time in a wheelchair they should have had people or more robots working for him The Flash could have fought throughout the series. Wow Deb you must be reading my mind, because not revealing DeVoe's motivations is exactly what I'm afraid of. There are a lot of possible reasons they could provide for DeVoe's motivation like taking the next step towards accelerating human evolution and intelligence. But how disappointing it will be if the writers don't bring it up at all, or his motive is he somehow blames the Flash for his medical condition. At least with RF, Zoom and Savitar we got a good idea of their motives which helped propel the story. Let's hope the same thing happens here. I am? I usually try to think positively with most shows but it is hard to be positive with the 'Arrowverse' shows sometimes 'cause we have seen them make the same mistakes over and over with some things and there have been so many disappointing versions of villains they have used and I don't know how many comic books of 'The Flash' you have read but in the comic books Black Flash was one of the Flash's most powerful villains and he killed Barry Allen and nearly killed Wally West too and Impulse was the only one that could beat him by racing him out into the middle of nowhere to a point where he could no longer exist. Black Flash turned out to be a future version of Barry Allen similar to what they did with Savitar last season but what was interesting with him apart from him being very powerful and close to unstoppable he wasn't so much a villain and and was there to fix the changes to the timeline Barry Allen and other Flashes made 'cause they destroyed the world in the future and was there to save everybody. I am not sure what they will do with DeVoe but let's hope they don't do what they did to Black Flash with him and then forget he existed. I am hoping his motivations are revealed and I think he is after Barry's body and I might be wrong but I think it will turn out there is something about Barry's body thanks to his powers that would allow DeVoe to live. That would explain why he is after Barry.

What a waste of a character and to think we got stuck with wheels for a villain whose most impressive power is to swap bodies.

That and the inability to have any motivation!

I don't like the character and he's not funny at all.

Usually villains talk about their plans when they capture the hero, but DeVoe said nothing. They also have to tie this in with his need for the metas. Those writers better give him a sound motivation.

I have a feeling DeVoe's motivation will be revealed, but not until the last episode. And it will be so underwhelming and moronic it will set off a collective groan heard around the world.

Although, I don’t think he is gone ‘cause of what DeVoe said about his body being able to hold him and they will find a way to exorcise DeVoe from Ralph’s body and he will be back to being Ralph again in the final episode. I am honestly still not sure if all of the other metahumans DeVoe possessed are dead ‘cause I find it really weird how he always takes the bodies with him when he is finished using them instead of leaving them behind. It is possible some of them are still alive and he is keeping them trapped somewhere ‘cause having him inside of them they might know his weakness.

From the first episode he appeared in he had a grudge against Barry and it was like Barry has done something to him in the past or his actions have unknowingly done something to him but that doesn’t appear to be in the case from the flashbacks we have seen. I understood why he needed a new body since his old one was deteriorating but everything else after that doesn't make any sense and I think it would have been better if they had explained his motivations from the start instead of leaving us to wonder all this time 'cause when it is revealed we will probably have more questions than answers.

The Elongated Man was in ‘The Flash’ comic books but I don’t think he was ever in a reoccurring role like Ralph has been this season and was just one of those characters who would come and go but Black Flash was a much, much bigger threat than what they made him out to be in this show and I didn't like the way they quickly got rid of him.

The Elongated Man debuted in The Flash comics, but I don't think he was an ongoing character in that series. He has made most of his appearances in Justice league of America.

Thanks for letting us know about that. I looked into his history and he was just as much an ongoing character as the Black Canary (who also debuted in 'The Flash') was and it makes me wonder if his character was only meant to be short lived now since he wasn't in many of 'The Flash' comic books but looking at how they have used Cisco, Caitlin/ Killer Frost, Joe and Harrison Wells looking at the comic books is not exactly the best way to tell what they plan on doing moving forward. With Elasti-Girl set to be in 'Titans' if Ralph stays they are going to have two heroes with the same abilities on screen at the same time on separate shows.

It brought a tear to my eye. I have watched that scene 5 times and in slow motion and it never gets old. What's this about bringing him back? What a way to ruin the celebration. Leave him gone. Nobody misses him and the show will be better without him. Don't make me go ginger ninjas on their arses.
