I never see wild coho salmon at our Costco. Common in some types of fish (e.g., cod). One reason most fresh fish is not "sushi" quality.
You won't die if you eat it, unless you didn't kill it in cooking.

...I was acquainted with a co-worker some years ago who ate some northern pike sushi and ended up with a parasite in his gut. He was given a diuretic/poison to get rid of the parasite and ended up crapping out a 2 foot long worm...

I know I've bought grocery store salmon and just chopped it up raw for poke and carpaccio. I wonder what could be living inside me.
