who the shit is this loser? Someone who doesn't hate the ST for existing. ok? Just, from someone who has no prior knowledge of you on these boards, you just come off as an intentionally oppositional troll. Just saying, if you'd asked me, my first response wouldn't be "I think formersamhmd can be defined as someone who doesn't hate the ST for existing."..

And the simple IDEA that there'd BE a new Generation at all offended a lot of people. How? Because Rey wasn't Luke's daughter and Finn wasn't Lando's long-lost son? The idea that a lot of people would be offended with a new generation is completely silly. It's not even logistically possible. Every single one of these posters on this board saw TFA. EVERYONE was interested at first. It was not ruined because the characters weren't keeping it all in the family. It was partially-ruined by the fact that TFA indicated they were keeping it all in the family and certain parts of TFA absolutely relied on that idea in order to make sense of some of its scenes. And the other part of what ruined their characters was the pure shit that some people are calling RJ's "writing."

Totally retarded, this insinuation that OT fans didn't want to see a new generation, yet helped TFA become the biggest box office in domestic history knowing it was a story about a new generation.

Nah, just after suffering through all the prior CBMs that were ashamed of the source material it was nice to get something unashamed. lol, yeah, like NOLAN's Dark Knight, A film that needed an actor to die to get any real recognition. Enjoyable, and relatively unashamed. Too bad Burton doesn't think it's all that good. Good, until Luthor shows up and it devolves into campy nonsense. As ashamed as it gets, a zombie that should've passed on years ago and soon thankfully will. What are you, an infant? This whole Fragglerock thing reeks of desperation. And the movie was still surprisingly close to the myth anyways. Calm down Francis, you'll give yourself skin failure.

Nah, just put up with this kind of ST-hating garbage on other forums to the point I've decided that being gentle ain't cutting it anymore.

You remember how TOSers reacted at the announcement of TNG for Star Trek? It's very logistically possible. And I remember how some people were upset the second they laid eyes on Finn before he said or did anything. I can't help but think that if Rey HAD been Luke's daughter and Finn was Lando's son they'd have gone over better with audiences. Let's face it, Rey was in a no-win scenario. She either IS Luke's daughter and gets derided for that, or she's not his daughter and gets derided for that.

In order to win your argument, you need to cite evidence of posters on here who didn't like Finn because he was black or Rey because she was female. I need to see actual posts from these posters that say these things. Evidence is not your opinion, no matter how hard you keep trying to spin it that way.

I can't help but think that if Rey HAD been Luke's daughter and Finn was Lando's son they'd have gone over better with audiences. You'd be right for once. Because that would help explain scenes from TFA. Instead, the scenes in TFA are now retroactively inconsistent with all the rules, logic and lore of the previous six films.

Not sure why anyone continues to indulge this troll. He's clearly just baiting at this point.

The only scenes that implied anything were Rey's own fantasies. And having her be Luke's daughter would've just been giving more ammo to the Anti-Rey crowd. Face it, girl was screwed no matter what her origin was.

I just need to point out the "Star Wars is SJW now!" reactions from a few years ago. Just type in those words to a search engine.

I think we're getting to the heart of the matter now. You say something and then immediately change the goal post.
Nice trollin'....
