Father's day present, the 16th in a series of which I've previously only read the first one.

Finally giving "Crime and Punishment" a try, after years of telling myself I should read it one day. Gotta say I am not loving it so far, which I think might be because of the public domain translation. I am in the queue for a library copy of a more recent translation, which hopefully I will like better. Don't give up. Last year I read that one, then 'The Idiot' then 'Brothers Karamazov'. After Crime and Punishment they got progressively easier. Either the stories were easier to follow or I became more accustomed to the Russian names and his syntax.

The Dark Half by Stephen King. One of a handful of his books I haven't read yet.

Reading another Koontz book, Intensity. I thought that was one of his better books. High Tension shamelessly ripped it off but added a really stupid twist.

The Dark Half by Stephen King. One of a handful of his books I haven't read yet. Not a good novel at all.

Ubik by Philip K. Dick. I'm 1/3 of the way through, and I'm still not sure what a Ubik is. The story is generally about telepaths and precogs who are hired by companies to sabotage rival companies; and a company that specializes in undermining telepaths and precogs.

The Dark Half by Stephen King. One of a handful of his books I haven't read yet. Not a good novel at all. I thought the first 3/4ths were solid but it really became weak after that. The ending was painfully silly.

Sphere by Michael Crichton. Civilian scientists and the US Navy explore a massive spacecraft that's been found at the bottom of the ocean.

No Country for Old Men, by Cormac McCarthy
UPDATE: Good book, though at first it was hard to get used to the writing style.

Christine, by Stephen King.
Update: Good book, though like many King novels it overly long. I only have four King novels left that I've never read, Needful Things, the Green Mile, Thinner and Gerald's Game.

The Road, by Cormac McCarthy. (I read it back when it was first published, and I just got an urge to read it again.)
