1. Changed his hair from blonde to black. 2. In the underwater videos we've seen so far, goes with a bare torso look that's more Namor instead of the orange armor normally associated with Aquaman. 3. Has an aggressive, edgy, almost-wild attitude that's more consistent with Namor than Aquaman. 4. They cast an actor who, if properly shaven, looks almost perfectly like Namor and nothing like Aquaman.

............sure.....*
He does have full body armor, but it's green, probably something he gets once he accepts his place in Atlantis. Also orange.....idk if that works live action, like a blue suit batman.
I think they were looking for a more Polynesian look.

They did it to make it harder for Marvel to use Namor later.

But a bronze/brass colored scale mail shirt or a golden-orange color would have worked.

Trying to beat Marvel to the punch I suppose. well marvel is doing a namor show, are they not? besides, namor was stuck in major distribution issue since, like the hulk, distribution rights were with universal for a long time.

Well Batfleck's costume wasn't designed to be blue, so just photoshopping blue over it obviously will look cheesy. But I don't think it's impossible to design a bluish-grey Batman suit that we can take seriously. After all, Captain America was able to make it work. Even Loki managed to maintain his colors.

I'm tell you guys, they did it to make things harder for Marvel when they decide to introduce Namor. shhhhhhh besides we have darkseid and thanos, who share a lot of visual similarities, so you can blame marvel years ago for aping darkseid years ago, there were also two quicksilvers (one is dead) and dc is introducing the flash, soooo i guess marvel and fox used those two characters to make the flash harder to use....right? probably not. honestly, it will be fine. if any of the creators have an ounce of imagination (in either dc or marvel) they'll have the ability to make them different enough, make their worlds different enough, and make them their own identifiable characters.

You're underestimating the sheer amount of pettiness that's gone into the creation of the DCEU. It was no accident that Aquaman ended up looking pretty much the way Namor is supposed to. That was an intentional decision to screw Marvel. You'll never convince me otherwise.
Of course Marvel's creative enough to jump over this curb in the road. Warner/DC's not clever enough to stop them.

Besides, Marvel didn't even get back the rights for Namor until just a year ago. Universal previously owned the rights.

Everything else (including his look if you shaved the beard) is more Namor than Aquaman.

Exactly. He's more Namor than anything else and I still maintain DC is trying to get the jump on Marvel here.

Yeah, pretty much. Like I said in another thread, the reason they chose Momoa for the role was exactly because he was a perfect choice for Namor and it worked as a preemptive strike while Marvel is still sorting out the legal issues.
That said, even with Aquaman being Namorized (yes, I just made that word up), Marvel can still use him in a way that is different and unique because he's a much more interesting character, all they have to do is empathize his differences more: Aquaman is a superhero that is mostly good, Namor is quite often a raging asshole that attacks nations often for petty reasons and is willing to cross the villain line. You can't imagine Aquaman committing genocide, for example, yet Namor did that.

Momoa doesn't even look that much like Namor.
