I just read the first issue of Y: The Last Man this week. Really, really good stuff. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series and I'm excited about this show.

I'm not familiar with Y, but the premise sounds interesting and the showrunners have a good track record. I will be adding this to my looooong list of tv shows to watch.

I know what you mean by a long list of shows to watch. I thought I already had a long list, and then a certain poster on this board began suggesting even more! I'm starting to understand how Atlas felt.

I haven't read much of the series but I have a few of the graphic novels and from what I have read I think this could turn out to be a really good show too and I am looking forward to seeing it. What are your thoughts on it being on FX in comparison to other DC shows on the CW Network? Have you seen any of the shows on their channel?

FX is a better choice than the CW. They tend to be more mature and complex.

FX is a better choice than the CW. They tend to be more mature and complex. I thought it might be. We have an FX Channel here on Foxtel which I think might be slightly different than the one you have in America and I have never watched any of the shows on it 'cause we are busy watching other shows but it has a lot of American TV shows on it and 'Legion' was on it before it got moved and if we get 'Y: The Last Man' here which I hope we do it will most likely air on FX or Fox 8. It is very different than a lot of the other DC series and there has been talk of making a movie for years that didn't go through so it is good to see they were able to get it to go through as a TV show.

I think a TV series works better than a movie, as you don't have to worry about condescending the story.

Why is it Y: The Last Man? What significence does the Y play in this?

It has to do with the Y chromosome, because all mammals with it (save protagonist Yorick Brown and his monkey Ampersand) die all at once.

‘Y: The Last Man’: Dream-Casting the Upcoming FX Adaptation of Brian K. Vaughn’s Comic Series www.indiewire.com/2018/04/y-the-last-man-tv-show-casting-ideas-1201953947/I forgot to post this on here before. What are your thoughts on this casting? I can't say I am familiar with some of the names but I am a big fan of Tatiana Maslany for her work on 'Orphan Black' and think she would be an awesome fit for a comic book TV show. I personally think she would be great as a live action Cassie Hack in 'Hack/Slash' or a grownup Raven.

Good choice.

I wonder if it was comic book adaptions she specifically had a problem with or superheroes 'cause 'Y: The Last Man' isn't exactly a superhero series and we touched on this before about how some people see comic books and only think about superheroes but comic books are home to a variety of different genres like Horror, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Action, Romance, Thriller, Suspense, Crime and Comedy and have been for a long time and I think Crime and Horror were actually the first two genres of comic books. It is 'cause of that lack of knowledge a lot of people are surprised when they find out movies and TV shows like 'Dennis the Menace', 'Blue is the Warmest Colour', 'Josie and the Pussycats', 'Annie', 'Bulletproof Monk', 'Ghost World' and '30 Days Of Night' originated as comic books.

It's funny you mention Josie and the Pussycats because I just finished the first volume of the new series.

I heard they could be working on a Live Action TV show of 'Josie and the Pussycats' though which would be a spinoff from 'Riverdale' and I didn't know the characters had been in that show yet but it doesn't surprise me since they are making a new 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' show and Josie and the Pussycats is one of Archie Comics other most successful series.

Josie And The Pussycats are back? I loved that cartoon. I remember us watching that as kids. The movie wasn't as good as it could have been but the soundtrack was a classic. Good times.

Josie and the Pussycats are back indeed and I remember watching the animated show when we were kids too along with a lot of other animated shows but I used to think Josie and the Pussycats were Hanna-Barbera characters and didn't know they were Archie characters until later. From the way they are describing the spinoff show it might only be a show about Josie minus other characters like Valerie and Melody and not have any music in it which I think would be a mistake 'cause the music is a big part of 'Josie and the Pussycats.'
