We all know that Finn's backstory is being/becoming an ex-Stormtrooper. He also received this programming and training from birth (like all of the sequel trilogy Stormtroopers). It is similar to the Clonetroopers of the prequels. ... VIDEO EXAMPLE #3: A stooge character in an old Disney channel television show (named Mr. Moseby). Oh god. *Another* Disney Black stooge character?

Wrong-o. It's not a cop out with Cade Skywalker. It is, he's ages after the OT cast have died of old age and there's no "passing the torch". Do that in the movies and all you'd get is a bunch of pissed off OT fans who are upset they didn't get the OT cast back for a "passing the torch" story...which they'd have hated anyways if the new characters were independent leads instead of a bunch of incompetent sidekicks who are there to just make the OT cast look good. Wrong-o. Such Jedi mind trick lies only work on da weak minded. Wrong-o. This'n claim is just a cheap Jedi mind trick. Captain can see right through it. Just Disney shill propaganda. It won't work on da Captain, Gungan fool. Name one Star Wars protagonist in da history of onscreen SW dat hasn't "had something handed to them" or hasn't needed help. Name one!.....Yousa can't. Dats a narrative of da Disney warrior princess. It's one of the rules in her characterization: she must never appear as dependent. That's not SW protagonists. No-sa! Yousen are just a Disney shill trying to push this Disney crap onto SW and justify it. All da proof is there. Da ST is not real SW. It's a Disney fanfic of it and it sucks.

Wow.
I have a question for Rey fans:
What is it about her that you love so much? Because I just find her all that interesting and I personally think that the actress that plays her is bland.

Wrong-o. Trust me, having the ST open up like 100 years after the OT with the OT characters long gone, film would've bombed. Prove it. Well, the other characters all get protection for being created by Lucas himself, but when we first met them Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Han didn't have anything handed to them. Of course, no one hated the OT or the PT for existing so there was that protection as well. So double standard, because if this happened to Rey the OT fans would just decry her as weak. Because it dared to tell a story after the OT and not have the new leads be useless sidekicks while the OT leads are still the real stars.

Trust me, having the ST open up like 100 years after the OT with the OT characters long gone, film would've bombed. It deserves to bomb anyway. If'n these new ST characters can't stand on their own, it deserves to bomb. Yousa just admitted dat da trilogy is dependent on thems. Meesa doesn't have to prove anything cuz yousa hasn't proven dat OT fans wouldn't accept OT and ST characters sharing da spotlight. Yousa just keep repeatin dat theory without a shred of evidence to back it up. Tarpals is bustin with laughter at how weak yousen argument is. Amateur Disney shill stuff. Wrong-o! Jar Jar was a bad character and Lucas got no protection bout it. Another failed Jedi mind trick on yousen part. Wrong-o with QuiGon. Hims needed ObiWan's help against Darth Maul. When hims was cut off from it hims died for it. Weesa also knows QuiGon needed a lifetime of training to gets to be a Jedi master, so don't bother tryin to sneak dat bogus argument in on da Captain. Wrong-o bout ObiWan. Hims needed to be mentored by QuiGon in TPM. In AOTC hims needed saving twice. In ROTS hims was saved by Anakin. Yousa so wrong-o dat it's embarrassing. Yousa contradicting self again. Yousen said in other posts dat PT was hated. How can PT be hated and protected by fanbase at da same time?!? Yousa suck at Jedi mind tricks! LOL

I'm saying the OT fans would've ripped the movie apart for not having the OT characters in it. See what I mean about the no-win scenario? Look at how they've reacted thus far. He also wasn't a lead. Seeing how he died, help didn't matter in the end. I'm sure you'd be happy if Rey died in her first movie. And if Rey had been some star pupil Jedi Student of Lukes, she'd just get derided for being a star student. And if this happened to Rey, she'd just get ripped into and called a useless person who needed too much saving. Because they hate the ST so much they're willing to let go of their anger at the PT.

If'n they'sa wanted to avoid da hate, all thems had to do is... - write da OT characters respectfully and true to characterization - share da spotlight - keep da new characters grounded in da mythos and lore Dats mostly why da ST is criticized - dat and da horrible story writing and character development (If'n it didn't already have enough problems). Dats why it sux. Repeatin Disney shill mind tricks won't work on Tarpals. Save dat crap for Disney channel addicts. LOL

- write da OT characters respectfully and true to characterization Then there's no point in an ST at all and especially no need for new characters. The OT characters would've been able to stop the First Order on their own and not need anyone. The OT portrayed them as Ultimate Heroes after all, and if they remain Ultimate Heroes then they'd handle the ST on their own. Like I said, the OT characters would've dealt with everything and not need any help. Unless they didn't, and if they didn't then they're no longer the OT characters. This is an inevitability when you do a story set AFTER a "And they all lived Happily Ever After, the end". The Mythos and Lore ended with ROTJ, the only way new characters would fit into that would be to make them incompetent useless sidekicks that the OT characters wouldn't need. And even THEN the only way they could ever become anything CLOSE to leads is by Episode 9...or 12...or 15. Basically put it off as long as possible. Because the OT characters couldn't deal with the First Order on their own and new characters were there to take over. And these new characters weren't introduced as useless sidekicks but independent characters in their own right.

Otherwise it just becomes counterfeit. And dats what da ST is. All dat other stuff yousa said is just da same worn out lies aka Disney shill mind tricks. They'sa have become beneath Tarpals even answering anymore. Meesa is a captain! Meesa is part of "a grand army". Yousa should consider self-banishment. Yousen should be pew-nished for Gungan fool arguments based on nutso Disney shill mind tricks. Not worth Tarpals excellent strategic mind anymore. Yousa go melt brain cells watchin Disney channel now, okee-day?

Da lore and mythos never ends. Fictional universes are dependent upon it. Tell that to SW, there's a reason why no SW official fiction ever told stories of the OT cast dying or being replaced by a new Generation. They're always able to succeed again whoever their opponent is and whenever they try to do any future stories they always jump hundreds of years to the future so instead of passing the torch the OT cast are just dead. Total cop-out. And apparently no one can counter any of it.

In fact Chewbacca was the only one who died so far before Disney decanon everything. There was a Han Solo comic where han and chewie crash land on earth and Han is killed. His remains was found by Indiana Jones 100 years later. Even then Disney version was the real cop out. Han dies at the hands of his son, which is fine, but before that he's basically treated as a deadbeat father who abandoned his family. Luke dies by sacrificing himself, again no complaints with that, but before that he was made into a grumpy old man who abandoned his friends and family and then let the first order grow in power. Unfortunately Carrie Fisher passed away, so we'll probably won't see how much Disney shafts leia.

No, no one has explained how Rey and Finn could take over as leads while Han/Luke/Leia were around as powerful as they were in the OT, no one has explained how the First Order couldn't have been beaten by the OT cast before the ST started, etc.

It's already been countered. No, no one has explained how Rey and Finn could take over as leads while Han/Luke/Leia were around as powerful as they were in the OT, no one has explained how the First Order couldn't have been beaten by the OT cast before the ST started, etc. It's called not writing a wish fulfilment lead character. Duh. Plus, Wax has laid out how it could have been done, as have others. But, continue on Trololololing

Like Luke and Han? All he wrote was making Rey some lowlife thief who'd never amount to anything without Han leading her by the hand.

Luke is wish fulfilment, he's some random moisture farmboy who goes on to be an epic hero. Han is some badass scoundrel who gets the main female character.
And go read his treatment he brought up yourself. He wrote Rey as someone who was spinning her wheels doing nothing with her life until Han rescues her and by dumb luck meets Leia who decides to make her a Republic Operative or something.
Oh, and still no explanation of how the OT cast couldn't stop the First Order on their own without needing help, despite them taking down the Empire a generation before.

-His journey does have some wish fulfillment, but it's not at the expense of suspension of disbelief in the universe they've created. You must not have watched the same Han that everyone else did. Still no explanation of Finn's lack of characterization. Still rambling about nonsense. I assume you have some kind of Obsessive-Compulsive disorder?
