This is one of the few times I didn't mind the villain having the same powerset as the hero. The adamantium bullet was telegraphed horribly though. For me, Logan was one of the worst instances of a mirror-villain. There were better ways to thematically reflect Logan's former adherence to violence and animalistic nature back at him. Creating an automaton was a bit lazy. It was a cheap cop-out for sure.

I thought so but, I'm always surprised by how many people though X-24 was a great villain despite hating the very same concept when it gets used in other franchises. To each their own I suppose.

To each their own I suppose. Logan was a great film... and so I feel that convinces people that everything was great the way they are, including the villain. I disagree of course. I'm perfectly capable of admiring the film while at the same time pointing out its weak points. As good as Logan was, it could only have been improved by giving him a better villain. Normally I wouldn't mind as long as the movie is good, but seeing as this was the last Logan movie it seems a wasted opportunity considering we never even got a good Wolverine villain on screen yet. The best was Liev's Sabertooth but even he was underutilized.

I wasn't a huge fan of X-24 and definitely would've preferred Daken and a little more Reavers action, but it was still a great movie.

Agreed. That was the biggest (and really the only) problem with the movie, as amazing as it is. Seeing how Logan is broken mentally and physically, he should’ve had someone to contrast from him as a worthy opponent. Therefore, the clone wasn’t all that memorable, but even then the other villains weren’t memorable at all. Do you even remember their names?
